Hydroxyapatite (HA) particles formed by such apparatus and methods are examples of particle manufacture useful in bone and dental therapies. Dual nozzle spraying techniques are utilized for generally insoluble compounds.

The above dispersed aqueous solution can be used as a paper-making chemical, an ink jet recording chemical, medical materials and cosmetic raw materials.

The inventive method for producing strong base phosphates consists in forming a pulp consisting of an aqueous phase which contains a water-soluble calcium phosphate and a solid impurity-containing phase, in separating said phases, transferring calcium ions to a liquid phase by a strong base ions associated with forming the aqueous solution of the pure phosphate(s) of said strong base and in precipitating a pure water-insoluble calcium phosphate. Said method also consists in mixing phosphoric ores and acid in such a way that a pasty triple superphosphate composition is obtained and in adding water thereto in order to produce said pulp.

The present invention especially relates to the mechanism and to the technological process for synthesizing nanosized crystalline hydroxyapatite. In particular, for producing nano-sized crystalline hydroxyapatite whose particles have nano dimensions in length "l", width, "d" and thickness "h", wherein "h" is practically corresponding to the size of one transmission of crystallographic cell a method is disclosed involving the steps of mixing and homogenizing a suspension comprising calcium hydroxide with an amount of phosphoric acid within a first reactor thereby adjusting a defined alkaline pH-value of the resulting mixture, feeding the mixture into a second reactor for causing phase transformations of the mixture and feeding the mixture into a third reactor for providing a suspension by adding a suspension of calcium hydroxide to the mixture to then feed the suspension into the first reactor, whereby each of these steps is cyclically carried out in continuos periodical conditions within at least three stages thereby producing nano-sized crystalline particles of pure hydroxyapatite as a solid phase.

A process for producing spherical, non-porous hydroxyapatite particles having a size which does not exceed 250 microns and having a density of at least 3.00 g/cc. The process comprises agglomerating in the presence of water as the only additive hydroxyapatite powder feedstock having a purity of at least 97 %, and having metallic impurities which do not exceed 500 ppm, to form hydroxyapatite particles having a size which does not exceed 350 microns. The particles are then dried and then sintered at a temperature from about 1,100 DEG C to about 1,200 DEG C to provide spherical, non-porous hydroxyapatite particles which do not exceed 250 microns and having a density of at least 3.00 g/cc. Such particles have a variety of medical uses, including bone replacement, implant coatings, and dental applications such as alveolar ridge augmentation, root extraction site fillings, restoration of periodontal osseous lesions, and soft tissue augmentations.

The present invention provides a method of synthesizing hydroxy apatite comprising the steps of preparing a mixed material slurry by dispersing calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH) 2 ) powder into a phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 ) solution; conducting a mechanochemical milling treatment in which shearing force and compressive force based on a centrifugal force of a mechanical rotating body are imparted to the mixed material slurry , and reacting the calcium hydrate component with the phosphoric acid component under normal temperature and pressure thereby to prepare hydroxy apatite (HAp) powder having fine crystals. According to the structure described above, there can be provided a method of synthesizing hydroxy apatite having fine and uniform particle size which can be directly synthesized under normal temperature and pressure in a short time through simple and single process.
