    摘要: A process is disclosed for preparing resin extended pigments containing from 10% to 75% and preferably 25% to 50% by weight, based on the amount of pigment and resin present. The crude pigment and resin are premilled dry, such as in a ball mill, in a manner equivalent to that used to prepare small particle size highly aggregated pigment. Following premilling the pigment and resin are milled in an organic liquid capable of ripening the pigment particles to pigmentary size or simply improving their crystallinity which organic liquid at 30°C can dissolve no more than 5 g/l and preferably no more than 2 g/l of the resin.

    摘要: Novel, nano-structured particles are formed by introducing a selected solid of interest into a structured fluid matrix formed by a dispersion of a small molecule host vessel, such as a native or modified polysaccharide, cavitand, simple sugar, simple polyol or other similarly structured molecule known to be useful as a host vessel, in an acidic medium or other solvent, whereby the particle size of the introduced solid is reduced and or limited by incorporation into the host vessel. The simple, one-step mixing process results in stabilized colloidal dispersions of the nanoparticles useful in a wide variety of applications.

    摘要: A C.I. Pigment Yellow 74 as an insoluble azo pigment is provided. This C.I. Pigment Yellow 74 is crystalline particles. The ratio (26.6°/11.7°) of a diffraction intensity of a peak at 26.6° to a diffraction intensity of a peak at 11.7° in terms of Bragg angle (2θ±0.2°) as measured by powder X-ray diffraction using CuK α-radiation is 0.85 to 1.12, and the average primary particle size is 20 to 130 nm. The use of this C.I. Pigment Yellow 74 as a colorant in a coloring composition enables to provide the coloring composition with excellent dispersibility and good particle size stability and storage stability compared with conventional pigments. The use of this coloring composition enables the formation (recording) of images having excellent clarity and transparency of such high levels that have not been achievable by conventional technologies.
