With a method for introducing and removal of printing blocks into and out from a washing machine for printing blocks, being able to washing, rinsing and drying the printing blocks of different dimensions in one working procedure, where printing blocks are suspended in a conveyer (5) equipped with catching means, it is inventor's aim to develop a method for automatically handling the printing blocks when loading and emptying a machine for washing, rinsing and drying printing blocks. This aim is achieved with a method, where the printing blocks are suspended on a yoke (6), where they are fastened with suitable locking means (8), after which the yoke (6) with the printing blocks is taken to an introduction station (2), from which the conveyer (5) can catch the yoke (6) and thereby take the printing blocks through the washing-rinsing-drying-machine (1), after which the yoke (6) arrives to an exit station, from where the yoke (6) with the printing blocks is removed and the printing blocks can be released from the yoke (6).

This invention relates to a printing plate precursor, a fabrication process of the printing plate precursor, a fabrication process of a printing plate, a regeneration process of the printing plate, a printing press, and a coating formulation for the printing plate precursor. According to the present invention, a printing plate can be fabricated directly from digital data, and sufficient image quality can be obtained without a developing step, i.e., a developer. To permit repeated use of the precursor (7), the precursor has a surface, which contains a photocatalyst and is capable of showing hydrophilicity when exposed to activating light having energy higher than band gap energy of the photocatalyst. A coating formulation (4L) - which comprises fine particles of a thermoplastic resin having both a property that the particles unite to the surface when heated and a property that the particles decompose under action of the photocatalyst when exposed to activating light having energy higher than band gap energy of the photocatalyst - is applied as a hydrophobizing agent onto the surface. At least a part of the surface of the precursor is heated such that the fine particles applied on the part of the surface are fixed to form a hydrophobic image area. The fine particles applied on the remaining part of the surface with the image area formed thereon are then removed.

In a printer in which a printing material is printed on and applied to an object surface via a printing screen mask provided with an opening of a predetermined pattern, cream solder remaining in the opening of the screen mask is removed reliably. A flow rate of the air in an air suction mechanism (19) can be controlled by a flow rate controller (20). After an air sucker (15) has moved up, so that an upper end thereof has contacted the screen mask (5), the sucking of the air is started with respect to the opening (6) of the screen mask (5), whereby a cleaning operation is carried out. The residual cream solder (4) in the opening (6) is examined by an inspection camera (2) after the completion of this cleaning operation, and a cleaning operation is carried out again with the flow rate of the suction air controlled in accordance with the results of the examination.
