The invention relates to a method for directly producing an investment casting mold by machining a sand mold produced using hardenable bonding agents. In particular, the wear of the tools should be reduced and the dimensional accuracy and precision should be increased during the reproduction of the mold. To this end, a blank mold (1) to be machined is produced while using a variable or fixed casting box (2) having a model assembly (4). Said blank mold comprises specified contours, with regard to volume, of the casting mold and a machining allowance for the milling of the molding material. After filling the casting box (2) with hardenable foundry molding materials, after hardening and after removal from the mold, the blank mold (1) is converted into the casting mold by removing material according to the machining allowance by means of high-speed machining, milling or three-dimensional machining of free-formed planes. The invention relates to investment casting molds for castings made of metal, and to the production of cast part prototypes and individual pieces having small and medium dimensions and masses.

The invention relates to a method for positioning and fixing moulded parts in casting moulds, which comprise a plurality, but at least two, separate mould parts. The aim of the invention is to provide a method by means of which a mould part for a casting mould can be exactly positioned and fixed in position in a simple manner. This should result in the moulding geometry of the individual mould parts of a multi-part casting mould aligning substantially exactly with the desired geometry according to a CAD data set. Furthermore, the actual position of the moulding geometry of the completely assembled mould should be determined in order on the basis of said data to enable the dimensional accuracy of the cast part to be produced to be evaluated. The aim is achieved in that first of all the actual geometry and the actual position of a first mould part are measured and compared with the predefined CAD data set of said mould part, then the actual position and the desired position of said mould part relative to one another are corrected in such a manner that the moulding geometry is adjusted within predefined tolerances to the desired geometry corresponding to the predefined CAD data set, then the mould part remains in said position, which is subsequently used as the reference basis for positioning further mould parts, wherein for further mould parts the actual geometry and the actual position are likewise measured and compared with the predefined CAD data set and then the respective actual position is corrected in such a manner that the moulding geometry is adjusted within predefined tolerances to the desired geometry in accordance with the CAD data set, and the mould parts have though-holes provided in all mould parts, which are in operative connection with adjacent mould parts and which are filled with a curable moulding substance which then cures and thus fixes the mould parts in the position corrected in accordance with the predefined CAD data set.

Said tool comprises fixedly disposed winglike inserts for milling-type machining of non-chip forming materials and remains operational during unavoidable abrasive wear and increased wear and tear. According to the invention, the shaft tool is characterized by a shaft (1) that can rotate around its longitudinal axis (2). Said tool can be releasably connected to a drive device and is fitted with at least one groove-like recess (7) extending in axial direction and a flat cutting blade (8) on the free end segment (6) of the tool, said blade being provided on the front side with a non-cutting edge (12) when viewed from the direction of displacement (9). The shaft tool is used in the production of molds, more particularly heat-resistant casting molds for manufacturing of cast parts made of metal.

The invention relates to a surface-area gantry system for machining, assembly and handling tasks, with three axes of motion in the directions X, Y and Z, where the Z axis is provided with machining or grasping mechanisms, notably for the high-speed machining of non-metallic materials. The aim of the invention is to create an especially light and stiff surface-area gantry system suitable for large machining areas and universal applications which consists of simple components and linear modules which are economical to produce even in small numbers and permits relatively high feed rates and accelerations. According to the invention the X, Y and Z axes have linear modules (2) which are driven by synchronous linear motors and consist of a hot-rolled shaped support section (12) having a rectangular or square cross-section and fitted with pair-wise, opposite secondary elements (10). The slides (3) or working slides (1) are made of cast metal in the form of integral components -hich are provided with a wrap-around element (4) for the X, Y and Z axis and contain the primary elements (5).

Insbesondere für die Herstellung kostengünstiger und schneller Prototypen in der Produktentwicklung bezweckt die Erfindung ein Verfahren für die Herstellung einer Gießform aus einem Verbundformstoff für Gießereizwecke, der aus verschiedenartigen Formstoffen zusammengesetzt ist, die für das Gießen von Metallen hitzebeständig sind und die eine unterschiedliche stoffliche Zusammensetzung oder einen unterschiedlichen Gehalt an organischen oder anorganischen Bindemitteln aufweisen. Erfindungsgemäß wird aus einem Gießereiformstoff A ein fester Formkörper (2) hergestellt, der bei der Herstellung mit einem rieselfähigen chemisch gebundenen Gießereiformstoff B vollständig oder teilweise umhüllt wird. Nach dem Aushärten des Gießereiformstoffes B wird mit dem Formstoffblock (3) ein blockförmiger Verbundformstoff gebildet, der anschließend durch ein abtragendes Verfahren wie Fräsen, Bohren, Drehen oder Schleifen bearbeitet wird. In den aus dem Gießereiformstoff A bestehenden Formkörper (2) wird der Formhohlraum (1) und in den aus dem Gießereiformstoff B bestehenden Formstoffblock (3) wird das Anguss-System (4) und Speisersystem (5) unter Verwendung von CAD-Daten eingebracht.

A brake element reliable in operation, very resistant to thermal stresses and mechanically stable has a brake ring (1) or brake drum body in interaction with brake jaws made of a cast iron material with a high resistance to thermal shocks and a hub (2) and flange made of a cast iron with a higher grade tensile strength. The hub (2) is united to the brake ring (1) or brake drum by composite casting, forming a material union (5). The invention concerns in particular brake drums, brake disks or the like for vehicles.
