    摘要: The invention provides a printing system with a transport mechanism for transporting sheets. The transport mechanism comprises: a conveyor body for supporting and conveying a plurality of sheets a transport path; suction means, and especially fan means, for generating an under-pressure at or adjacent to the conveyor body to hold the sheets fixed in position on the conveyor body as it conveys the plurality of sheets along the transport path; and a controller for controlling or regulating operation of the suction means to adjust the under-pressure generated. The controller is configured to control operation of the suction means based on delivery of the plurality of sheets to the conveyor body and/or a change in the delivery of the sheets to the conveyor body. Further, the invention provides a corresponding method of transporting sheets of a print medium in a printing system.

A method is provided to synchronise media lists of several devices in a general architecture of devices by suppleting a media list of a first device with entries from a media list of a second device even if the media associated with an entry is not applicable in the first device. This has the advantage that entries from the media list of the second device may be passed to a third device without the second and third device being connected to a network at the same time. Entries from media lists are considered to be associated with the same media if the identification attributes, which may be more than one attribute, are equal. In that case the additional attributes of the entry are supplemented according to merging rules that depend on the kind of attributes.

The recording substance releases a gaseous emission after application on the medium. An air stream supply unit and an air stream pick-up unit for generating an air stream from the air stream supply unit to the air stream pick-up unit are provided and arranged such that the air stream is positioned between a printed part of the medium, on which printed part the recording substance is provided, and a surroundings of the printing assembly. The air stream thus forms an air curtain preventing the gaseous emission from entering the surroundings.
