A method of manufacturing a sheet-form composite touch fastener, the method comprising the steps of providing a longitudinally continuous sheet of a hook-engageable loop material (110) of finite width, the fibers forming both a sheet-form web body and hook-engageable loops (112) extending from at least one surface of the web body; introducing the loop material about a base roll (316) forming a laminate by permanently bonding a longitudinally continuous strip of plastic hook material (120) to a discrete portion of the loop material (110) in a nip (314) between the base roll (316) and a mold roll (318), leaving other portions of the loop material exposed and free of the hook material, the hook material including a strip-form base of synthetic resin, and fastener elements (126) having stems integrally molded with the base and extending therefrom; wherein said synthetic resin of the base of the hook component, for at least part of its extent, extends along a face of the discrete portion of the loop component and encapsulates fibers of said loop material; and cutting the laminate to form said composite touch fasteners (100), each composite touch fastener comprising a portion of said loop material, and a portion of said hook material (120).
