    摘要: A hopper coin feeder (1) comprises upper and lower hopper discs (18, 25). A flexible hopper wall (17) of diabolo shape cooperates with the upper disc (18) to control the feeding of coins by a coin pushing member (35) to the outer margin of the disc (18) where they are gripped between an annular band (33) and the disc (18) to be conveyed past a coin discriminator (61) . Any coins or debris that drop from the edge of upper disc (18) are caught on the lower disc (25) and pass to a reject chute (132) and coin payout cup (12). An active coin delivery chute and diverter (80), Figure (10), comprises a reciprocable plate (81) having a finger (82) which controls whether a coin fed from the upper disc (18) passes down the chute or is rejected onto the lower disc (25). Coins that pass down the chute enter a bowl (89) of a double-disc coin conveying assembly (5) that conveys a coin from the bowl (89) to a LIFO coin stacks (3) of a coin storage unit (1). Oversize coins that enter the chute can be directed through the bowl (89), and through aligned apertures (8) in the coin conveying discs, to pass into a coin outlet (10) also leading to the payout cup (12).

    摘要: A earpiece (10) for a sound delivery system has a sound output port (24) for delivering sound into the ear canal of the user. A cerumen block (30) is provided to prevent cerumen or earwax from blocking the sound output port (24) of the earpiece (10). The cerumen block (30) is formed by a small flap (30) of material which covers the sound output port (24) and blocks cerumen from entering the sound output port (24) in a closed position while allowing sound to pass around the flap (30) and enter the ear canal in an open position. A resilient hinge (32) returns the cerumen flap (30) to the open position once the earpiece (10) has been placed within the ear canal.

    摘要: A method of depositing a slug of striped food material comprises sucking a plurality of independent flows of different viscous fluid food (different in colour and/or composition) material into a cylinder (7) of a depositor assembly through respective circumferentially-spaced inlets (16) to the cylinder, preventing reverse flow through said inlets, and then urging the resulting charge of material in the cylinder out of the cylinder through a common outlet (9) so as to extrude the charge into a slug. A plurality of supply passages (11, 12, 13, 14) for the different viscous fluid food material connects respective reservoirs (2, 3, 4, 5) for the food materials to the respective cylinder inlet ports (16), a piston (15) being reciprocable in the cylinder, and piston drive means reciprocating the piston. An outlet valve (10') controls flow through the outlet port (9), and inlet valve means (15') controls flow through the inlet ports. The outlet valve can be a one-way valve (10'), and the inlet valve means can be constituted by an edge (15') on the piston (15) which is so arranged as to uncover the inlet ports (16) as the piston approaches a fully retracted position. Some blending of the adjacent streams where they contact one another in the cylinder can produce intermediate stripes of material in the deposited slug.

    摘要: A steerable endoscopic sheath has a proximal end, a distal end and a working channel lumen disposed therein. A plurality of solid state light emitting devices such as light emitting diodes are positioned near the distal end of the sheath and are selectively energized to illuminate internal body tissues. An imaging device such as a photo diode or CCD array creates an image from light reflected from the tissue. The distal tip of the endoscopic sheath is selectively moveable with a deflection device that is insertable into the sheath. The deflection device includes a tip deflection mechanism that allows a user to move the tip of the deflection device. With the deflection device inserted in the sheath, movement of the distal tip causes a corresponding movement in the distal tip of the sheath. The distal tip of the sheath has a shape retaining mechanism that allows it to retain the shape imparted by the deflection device once the deflection device is removed from the sheath.
