摘要： A roll fed labelling system and associated label are disclosed. The label (12) includes a triggering mark (28) formed of luminophor ink, i.e. containing a fluorescent optical brightening agent, that reflects as visible light directed UV light. A modulated UV light is directed at the label and the modulated reflected visible light is detected and used to trigger a cutting mechanism to separate a single label from the remainder of the roll. The triggering mark need not visibly contrast with the surrounding graphics of the label and may be invisible in visible light. When producing the roll of labels, the amount of brightening agent may be controlled by monitoring the luminescence of the triggering mark relative to a reference level which may be derived with reference to a miximum luminescence of other parts of the label.

摘要： A cutting/crushing device for the demolition of buildings has a pair of jaws (1) that pivot on frame (2). The jaws (1) are constrained to pivot in synchrony because each jaw (1) remains engaged with a guide pin (12) which substantially prevents relative movement of the two jaws (1). The guide pin (12) is guided by a slot (13) in the frame (2), aligned with a plane of symmetry between the two jaws (1), to prevent it from moving toward or away from either jaw (1). By guiding the guide pin (12) in this way, frictional binding and wear of the guide pin (12) are minimized. In addition, the shape of the recesses (11) into which the guide pin (12) fits can have smaller tolerances reducing play between the two jaws (1). Stoppers on the frame press against the rotatable jaws when they are fully opened to prevent any play.

摘要： A hollow shaft of a screw conveyor for transporting powder material receives pressurized air in its interior. A plurality of openings through the wall of the hollow shaft permits the pressurized air to exit energetically to prevent build-up of the powder material on the inside wall of the casing of the screw conveyor. In one embodiment, the openings are slits angled with respect to the axis of the screw conveyor at about the same angle as the helical blade. This produces a swirling flow of air which, in addition to preventing build-up of materials, enhances the advance of the powder material and, when the powder material is a mixture of different materials, helps prevent separation of the materials during transport.
