    摘要： A discharge lamp comprises a bulb (1) of which the interior is divided by a partition (5) to define a discharge path that runs in a convoluted manner with interlinked passages running between the top and the bottom of the bulb. The top portion of the partition (5) is provided with a top plate (12) which permits one of the curved passage-interlinking portions at the bulb top to pass along the upper surface thereof, such that the shadow of the partition (5) is eliminated from the bulb top and that the shape of the bulb can be freely selected, also enabling the lamp to be designed such that it is not easily broken. The partition (5) can be easily and intimately fitted, and the output of light is not reduced in the bulb top region.

    摘要： An organic coating (24) with slits or holes in a predetermined pattern is disposed on the surface of an electrically insulating substrate (10) on which electrode leads have been formed. A paste of an electrically resistive material (26) fills the slits or holes and is dried at 120° to 140°C. The surface of the paste (26) is flush with that of the coating (24) after which the paste is preliminarily baked in a stream of oxygen at 500° to 600°C while the coating is burnt off. The paste is fully baked at 800° to 1000°C to form heating resistor elements. Alterna- tiveiy the electrode leads may also beformed by this method.
    The thermal head produced by this method may then be used for the purpose of heating thermally sensitive recording paper in facsimile or the like machines to produce recorded dots of good resolution and regularity.
