A backframe for a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is formed of a molded shell (10) having some depth, and a closure plate (11) fixed to the shell to provide an enclosed volume. The molded shell (10) with the closure plate (11) yields a good weight-to-strength ratio, and provides a water and dust-resistant enclosure for control components of the SCBA. A water-tight battery compartment (14) is enclosed within the shell so the batteries are separated from other components. A low air pressure alarm provides an auditory signal, and may also include a tactile signal. A buddy breathing hose (30) can be pulled from the backframe to provide a reasonable length tether; and, by connecting two such buddy breathing hoses, twice the length is provided.

The clips (1) include in their concave portion a ring (3) made of an abrasion-resistant material with excellent slip properties. A sealing strip connects the rings (3) and consequently the clips (1). The sealing strips (8) include blades (9) forming a dual sealing shield in the free spaces between the front part (14) of the conveyor belt (13) and the convex part of the opposite clip. The clips (1) are connected by a hinge link rod (15) inserted in the rings (3) of the successive clips of alternately one or other of the row of clips. When mounted, the rings (3) abut against the front part (14) of the conveyor belt.

Batch processing of semiconductor wafers utilizing a gas phase etching with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride gas flowing between wafers in a wafer carrier. The etching may take place in a bowl with the wafer carrier mounted on a rotor in the closed bowl. The etchant gas may include a small amount of water vapor, along with the anhydrous hydrogen fluoride gas, as may be needed to commence the etching process. The etching may take place with the wafers arranged in a stack in the wafer carrier and extending along or on the rotation axis.

A demolition tool for attachment to the boom structure (11) and hydraulic system of a hydraulic excavator having a pair of jaws (22,24) pivotally connected together as to be mountable on the frame of the tool by a movable pin (24) so that the jaws may be placed with other jaws having other forms of demolition characteristics. The jaws may be a shear for steel or other structural material, including concrete, and the jaws may be a concrete crusher, a rock or coral breaker, a wood shear, a plate shear, or other form of demolition device. Both jaws are swingable and independently swingable, operated by a common manifold supplying hydraulic fluid to the cylinders. The jaws swing through operational arcs and are arranged so that the direction of thrust from the cylinders is tangential to the pin connecting the cylinders to the jaws at a location intermediate the ends of the operational arcs.
