    摘要: A landfill (24) has an impermeable liner (26) at its base and sides, and is capped at (28) by a multi-layer cap. The body of waste material (46) within the landfill (24) will undergo degradation. One byproduct will be leachate. Sediment (37) will develop at the bottom of the landfill (24) in the absence of any intervention. Extraction wells (38) extend from the surface (above the cap 28) down to the bottom of the landfill (24). A pump (54) allows leachate to be drawn from the waste material (46), through the extraction well (38). Leachate is extracted at a rate sufficient to create turbulence within the body of waste material (46). The turbulence serves to entrain sediment in the leachate for extraction of the entrained sediment with the leachate.

    摘要: A mobile telecommunication device is provided with a table which includes rows of entries for use when roaming outside the home country. The entries are provided with an order of preference, indicated by the order of columns in the table. An entry may specify a subscriber identity (IMSI 1, IMSI 2 etc.) and a local network (Voda, Telfort etc.), or only a subscriber identity. When roaming, a device will seek to establish a satisfactory connection using the subscriber identity and local network specified by the first preference entry for the roaming country. If a satisfactory connection cannot be achieved, the next most preferred table entry is read to obtain an alternative selection of subscriber identity and local network. At least one group of entries (e.g. for Netherlands) specifies two different subscriber identities (IMSI 1, IMSI 2). Specifying multiple subscriber identities and multiple local networks in the group of entries improves reliability by allowing a satisfactory connection to be achieved from another local network, if a specified local network is not available and allows an alternative subscriber identity from an alternative home network to be used, in the event that a failure in a home network prevents the establishment of a connection.

    摘要: An overfeed roller assembly for use on a rotating drive shaft of a textile machine is adapted for adjusting downstream tension in a continuous moving length of yarn. The overfeed roller assembly comprises a base assembly designed for mounting on the drive shaft, and an annular yarn tension adjuster carried by the base assembly. The tension adjuster comprises opposing closely spaced yarn-contacting walls. The yarn- contacting walls define a shallow generally serpentine depression in the tension adjuster adapted for receiving the continuous moving length of yarn. Yarn tension downstream of the roller assembly is thereby reduced as the moving yarn meanders through the tension adjuster in frictional contact with the yarn-contacting walls of the serpentine depression.
