摘要:
A method and related apparatus are provided for restoring a connection through a provider network (PN). In particular, a connection is established along a path (P1) through the provider network (PN) for the transport of client traffic between two client network nodes (CR1, CR2) of a client network (CD1, CD2). Any restoration service for this connection is deactivated. However, when a failure (F1) is detected along the path (P1) which affects the connection, a path search is performed anyhow to determine a projected restoration path (P2) through the provider network (PN) available to restore said failed connection. In the case that the path search was successful and a projected restoration path (P2) was found, the availability of the projected restoration path (P2) is communicated (MS1, MS2) to the client network (CD 1, CD2). The client can now decide whether to accept a temporary service upgrade to restoration service or not. Only after receipt of a confirmation (CM1, CM2) from said client network (CD1, CD2), a path restoration is performed to restore the failed connection over the projected restoration path (P2).

In order to configure a network for optimized transport of packet data traffic, a first packet node determines whether a traffic volume to be forwarded to a remote second packet node exceeds a predefined bypass threshold. If that is the case, the first packet node sends a bypass request towards the remote second packet node. An intermediate third packet node processes the request and determines, whether it locally has an interfering second bypass request and in this case, determines which of the two requests has a higher weight. The bypass request or, in case of an interfering second bypass request, the one with the higher weight, is then forwarded to the remote second packet node. Upon receipt thereof, the second packet node determines whether the received bypass request can be served. It that is the case, the bypass will be executed by sending a trigger to a service layer network to establish a bypass connection in accordance with the bypass request.

In order to allow a stepwise introduction of frame switching technology in packet switched networks, a method and related network node are proposed for switching data packets through a network in an aggregated manner. Data packets (31) from various packet sources sharing a common egress node are assembled at an assembly edge node (10) into a larger size container (32). Address information indicative of said common egress node is added to each container. Each container (32) is then switched through the network to the common egress node in accordance with the address information added. At the common egress node, the packets (31) are extracted again from the container (32) and forwarded in accordance with packet addresses contained in each data packet. According to the present embodiments, containers (32) are formed by assembling the data packets (31) into a chain of packets, each having a valid packet line code and adding an additional header packet (33) to the chain of packets, wherein the header packet (33) contains the address information as well as information indicative of the length of the subsequent packet chain.

The invention concerns a method for storing (503) a piece of information, in particular a first certificate, wherein storing (503) of said piece of information on a first user equipment is permitted (502) if a first signature, in particular a digital signature produced depending on said piece of information, is successfully validated (500, 501) as authentic signature of a second user equipment, or storing of said piece of information is prevented (502) otherwise.

A method of displaying network information is proposed. A representation of network resources is provided. Furthermore, an assignment of said network resources to hierarchy levels of said network is provided. Further still a declaration of dependencies between said network resources is provided. Network resources which are assigned to a some hierarchy level are displayed as nodes of a same sphere of a cone tree. Dependencies between dependent network resources are indicated as displayed links connecting the nodes representing the dependent network resources. A user is presented a list of hierarchy levels. The user selects hierarchy levels from the list. Only nodes which represent network resources that belong to the selected hierarchy levels are displayed.
