There is provided a coating composition capable of forming a coating film which has excellent long-term corrosion resistance and mechanical properties such as impact resistance, ductility, hardness, and bending resistance, and also has excellent damage resistance against sliding; and a coated article having the coating film. The coating composition of the present invention includes a synthetic resin binder; a multilayer carbon nanofiber subjected to surf ace treatment with a non-conductive substance; andadispersion medium. Preferably, the multilayer carbon nanofiber is grafted at least at one part of a surface thereof. Preferably, the coating composition comprises 3 to 15 parts by weight of the multilayer carbon nanofiber and 10 to 300 parts by weight of the dispersion medium with respect to 100 parts by weight of the synthetic resin binder.

The edges of the hexagonal carbon layers are further exposed by removing a deposited layer formed on the outer surface or inner surface of the carbon fiber. The exposed edges of the hexagonal carbon layers have an extremely high activity and are suitable as a support for catalytic metal.

The rubber composition and tire of the present invention have a high thermal conductivity and are excellent in other properties such as mechanical properties.
