摘要: A plasma panel based ionizing-photon radiation detector includes an input (70) and output (72) substrate with gamma-ray to free electron conversion occurring primarily on the input substrate (70) and a sealed discharge gas between the substrates (70, 72). X- electrodes (76), Y-electrodes (80), and secondary emitter source electrode (82) are formed on the two substrates (70, 72) and configured to form a plurality of pixels. Impedances are coupled to the X (76) and Y (80) electrodes and a power supply is coupled to the secondary emitter source electrode (82). Discharge event detectors coupled to the impedances detect discharge events at pixel locations, which leads to the detection of ionizing-photon radiation.

摘要: A radiation detector (Figure 1) is formed from a plasma panel (element 10) that includes a front substrate (12), and a back substrate (14 that forms a generally parallel gap (18) with the front substrate (element 12). X (column)(16) and Y (row) (17) electrodes are coupled by gas discharge events to define one or more pixels. Impedances are coupled to the X (16) and Y (17) electrodes, and a power supply is coupled to one or both types of electrodes. Discharge event detectors are coupled to the impedances.
