摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing essentially segregation-free and especially freckle-free casting moulds from metal, especially high-alloy steels as well as Ni and Co base alloys having great dimensions, according to an electroslag melting or casting method and using a short, electrically conductive, water-cooled chill mould (10). Electrically conductive elements (16) which are not directly water-cooled are mounted in the wall of said chill mould in an electrically insulated manner in relation to the component of the chill mould (10), whereby said component forms the casting mould. An essentially segregation-free and freckle-free bloom (24) of a surface cross-section that amounts to not more than 90 % of said component of the chill mould (10) is arranged in said chill mould, whereby said component forms the casting mould. The bloom is connected to the supplied metal by means of a slag bath (31) which is heated by the current passage and is situated in the area of the electrically conductive elements (16) and by continually pouring liquid metal (34) in a dosing manner or by supplying solid metal, in the form of granulated metal or rods for instance, that melts open in the hot slag bath (31). The level of the slag (32) in the chill mould (10) is approximately held constant by means of a relative movement between the chill mould (10) and the bloom (24) until the bloom (24) is radially doubled in the desired length. This process involving the doubled bloom (24) and a chill mould (10) of greater dimension is repeated once or several times until the desired final dimension of the casting mould is obtained.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and to a device required for carrying out said method for the continuous production of electroslag-casted or remelted billets or ingots from metal, especially from steels and Ni and Co base alloys in a water-cooled ingot mold (10) that is open towards the bottom. The billet (20) that is issued from the bottom of the ingot mold (10) is forced against a guide element (24, 24a) that is stationary with respect to its position to the ingot mold axis (A) by at least one clamping element (26) that is located opposite said guide element in such a manner that the areas of the billet surface that contact the guide or clamping elements (24, 26) change within short time intervals. At least one of those elements is driven to draw the billet while the other elements follow the movement of the billet. The method is also characterized in that at least one of the elements mentioned can be used to establish a contact with a source of current.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing metallic ingots or strands, especially from steel and Ni and Co based alloys, by melting self-consuming electrodes in an electroconductive slag bath, using an alternating current or a direct current in a short water-cooled mould which opens downwards, via which an electric contact can be produced for the slag bath. The supplied melt current is passed via the consumable electrode, the bottom plate, the remelt ingot and the melting bath, and optionally at least one electroconductive element of the mould, to the slag bath. The current distribution can be regulated in a controlled manner and the return circuit of the melt current passes back via at least one other electroconductive element of the mould, which is electrically isolated in relation to a first part of the mould which forms the remelt ingot. The proportion of the entire melt current supplied via the bottom plate is selected between 0 and 100 %. The device for carrying out said method uses a short, water-cooled mould having a bottom plate for creating a remelt ingot, and having at least one electroconductive element which is provided in the region of the slag bath. Said element is isolated in relation to the lower region of the mould, which forms the remelt ingot, and/or in relation to other electroconductive elements.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing hollow moulded bodies (48) from metal - especially from steels and Ni and Co base alloys according to an electroslag melting or casting method - using a short, electroconductive, water-cooled chill mould (10) that, together with a mandrel (14) which is arranged within the opening (11) of the chill mould and is also water-cooled, forms a casting or annual gap (18) for the hollow moulded body (48). The metal level is covered by means of an electroconductive slag bath (44) which is heated by supplying direct current or alternating current to the slag bath (18) by means of not directly water-cooled, electroconductive elements (24, 26) which are inserted into the wall of the chill mould (10) and/or the water-cooled mandrel (14) and by subsequently removing said current by means of such elements of the respective other component and/or the formed moulded body (48). At least one of said electroconductive elements (24, 26) is electrically insulated from the remaining components of the water-cooled chill mould (10) or the mandrel (14). The hollow moulded body (48) that is produced in the annular gap (18) and between the chill mould (10) and the mandrel (14) is drawn off towards the bottom or the chill mould (10), together with the mandrel (14), is lifted at the climbing speed of the metal level, whereby the moulded body (48) is stationary.
