摘要： An improved biopsy specimen cutter (10) utilizes a wire loop (30), attached to a hand manipulable trigger mechanism (32), for severing the tissue sample from the host. A removable dilator (12) is insertable into the biopsy specimen cutter (10) for the purpose of positioning the cutter (10) adjacent the tissue to be removed, and after such placement, the dilator (12) is withdrawn, the specimen cutter (10) is advanced into the tissue, the trigger mechanism (32) is retracted causing the loop to sever the tissue, and the specimen cutter (10) and the specimen contained therein are withdrawn.
