The present invention provides polyolefin resin particles that are capable of producing expanded polyolefin resin beads having a favorable fine cell structure, expanded polyolefin resin beads that suffer less volume shrinkage under a high temperature environment and are excellent in recovery property on repeated compression, and a method for producing the expanded beads. The polyolefin resin particles of the present invention have a peak temperature (T 1 ) of a melting peak on first heating in a DSC curve obtained by heating the resin particles from 20°C to 200°C at a heating rate of 10°C/min that is higher by 1.5°C or more than a peak temperature (T 2 ) of a melting peak on second heating in a DSC curve obtained by, subsequent to the first heating, cooling the resin particles from 200°C to 20°C at a cooling rate of 10°C/min, and then heating the resin particles from 20°C to 200°C at a heating rate of 10°C/min. The method for producing expanded polyolefin resin beads of the present invention includes: a step of preparing preliminary resin particles containing a polyolefin resin; a step of heat-treating the preliminary resin particles at a temperature that is higher by from 15 to 25°C than a melting point of the preliminary resin particles, so as to produce resin particles; and a step of expanding the resin particles.

The present invention is a method for producing a foamed molded article including extruding a foamable molten resin, formed by kneading a polycarbonate resin, a polyester resin in an amount of 5 to 100 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the polycarbonate resin and a foaming agent, from a die to obtain a foamed parison, and molding the foamed parison in a softened state in a mold. The polyester resin is a polyester copolymer containing diol component units, 10 to 80 mol % of which are glycol component units each having a cyclic ether structure, and dicarboxylic acid component units.

Expandable particles containing as a base resin a propylene polymer satisfying the following requirements (a) to (c); a resin composition; and an in-mold molding and an impact absorber each obtained by molding the expandable particles. The polymer comprises 100 to 85 mol% structural units derived from propylene and 0 to 15 mol% structural units derived from ethylene and/or a C4-20 α-olefin. In examination by 13C-NMR, the proportion of irregularly positioned propylene monomer units based on 2,1-insertion in all propylene units is 0.5 to 2.0% and the proportion of irregularly positioned propylene monomer units based on 1,3-insertion is 0.005 to 0.4%. The melting point, Tm [°C], and the water vapor permeability of a film of the polymer, Y [g/m2/24 hr], satisfy a specific relationship.

A foamed body produced by using expandable particles, and having communicating pores has sound absorption characteristics, and can be used as a sound absorptive material. However, a sound absorptive material comprising such a foamed body could not attain a high sound absorbing coefficient in a wide acoustic frequency band. The subject mold body is produced by using resin particles and has sound absorption characteristics, the resin particles having through pores and a porosity in a most densely packed state of 45-80 %. The void ratio of the molded body is 10-60 %, and the bulk density thereof 0.01-0.6 g/cm . The molded body has not less than 3 continuous central frequency measuring points at which the sound absorbing coefficient is not less than 70 %, and not less than 7 continuous central frequency measuring points at which the sound absorbing coefficient is not less than 50 % in the sound absorbing coefficients at the central frequencies of 250, 315, 400, 500, 630, 800, 1000, 1250, 1600, 2000, 2500 and 3150 (Hz) which are determined by a sound absorbing coefficient measuring method according to the reverberation method under JIS A1409.

The foamed particles can be obtained by cross-linking non-cross-linked aliphatic polyester resin particles with a cross-linking agent containing an organic peroxide to obtain cross-linked resin particles having a gel fraction of at least 5 % by weight, and foaming the cross-linked resin particles. Biodegradable foamed moldings are obtained by thermally foaming the foamed cross-linked aliphatic polyester resin particles in a mold.
