摘要: A piezo motor (150) may be tuned to a specific frequency range having a small deviation from an operational frequency range of a magnetic resonance imaging system component. This may be done by applying a pressure to the piezo motor (150), generating at least one signal via a control board (200) and where this signal is at a selected frequency within the specific frequency range applying the signals to the piezo motor (150), measuring a vibration frequency of the piezo motor (150), and varying the applied pressure to the piezo motor (150). The applied pressure may continue to be adjusted until the measured vibration frequency of the piezo motor (150) is at a resonant frequency for the piezo motor (150). After the piezo motor (150) is tuned in this manner, the piezo motor (150) may be incorporated into a magnetic resonance imaging system component.

摘要: A dual head contrast media injection system performs a patency check or test injection, determining flow rate and/or flow volume from the programmed protocol. The tubing that connects syringes to a patient shares only a short common section near to the patient. Appropriate injection steps are taken to compensate for tubing elasticity. A wireless remote control and a touch screen control are provided, improving functionality and information delivery. The display brightness is controlled based on the ambient light, and the display panel includes a double swivel permitting re-orientation. The orientation of the display may also be controlled based on, e.g., the current step, the tilt angle of the powerhead, or a manual control. Furthermore, the display is customizable to identify the type of fluid (contrast, saline, etc.) on either side of the injector, to provide matched color coding, and to provide a folder/tab analogy for retrieving injection protocol parameters.

摘要: An injector (20) that may be used to deliver radiographic contrast media and/or flushing solution into a patient's vascular system for the purposes such as obtaining enhanced diagnostic x-ray images. The injector includes the following features: (1) a syringe mount (26) for attachment of a syringe (28) to the injector (20); (2) display (34) and controls (90) for volume and flow rates; (3) automatic limiting of the operating pressure of the injector (20) as determined by the selection of a flow rate; (4) a syringe cradle (48) having a warming capability; (5) a purge/retract trigger (36) for control of the injection procedure having intuitive direction (i.e., forward for injecting, reverse for filing), non-contact control transmission through the housing of an injector (20) for an improved seal integrity, a speed lock, and/or the ability to change the concentration and/or flow rate of media or other fluid during an injection procedure; (6) a switch to determine when the drive ram (46) is in a "home" position; (7) a "soft" on/off power switch separate from the injector; and (8) a structure to prevent rotation of the drive ram (46) about its axis of symmetry (76). Additionally, the injector system includes software for the control of various components.

摘要: A contrast media injection system includes detects the absolute position of the syringe ram using a non-contact sensor. A series of magnets and Hall-Effect sensors may be used or an opto-reflective system. Illuminated knobs that are connected to the drive mechanism for the syringe ram rotate with the drive and provide visual feedback on operation through the illumination. Analog Hall-Effect sensors are used to determine the presence or absence of magnets that identify the type of faceplate being used. The faceplates include control electronics, connected to the powerhead through connectors, which may be interchangeably used by the two faceplates. The faceplate electronics include detectors for automatically detecting the capacity of pre-filled syringes. Additional features include using historical data to provide optimum pressure limit values during an injection protocol, a removable memory device for storing and transferring information such as injection protocols and injector statistics, and password protection of such protocols.

摘要: A foot-activated controller that communicates with at least one medical device is disclosed. This controller may incorporate a number of features. Multiple displays may be positioned on the controller for depicting the functionality of its various actuators. “Tapping” or partially depressing an actuator may cause an output that is representative of its functionality to be generated on its corresponding controller display, while fully depressing an actuator may initiate execution of its assigned function. The function assigned to each of the various actuators may be programmed by an external computer that may communicate with the controller over an appropriate communication link and via a communication port on the controller. Different audible feedbacks may be assigned to the various actuators, for instance to provide an audible indication of the function being executed.
