A barricade component (10) comprises an endless perimeter wall (16) defining a geometric shape in a front-to-back plane. At least two circumferentially spaced-apart connecting lugs (14) are also provided on the perimeter wall (16) for interconnecting like or similar barricade components (10) and these extend in an axial top-to-bottom direction. A reinforcement cage (44) is within the perimeter wall (16) and the lugs (14), and at least one elongate truss (48) extends in a circumferential direction and an axial direction within the wall from one said lug (14) to the other said lug (14). A method of interconnecting a plurality of said barricade components (10), and a method of forming such a barricade component (10) are also provided.
