A container for drinks comprises a transparent bottom portion (2) and a body (3), which is extended from the bottom portion (2) and at the top passes into an opening. The bottom portion (2) has a first wall portion (7) which curves to the interior of the container and which is formed coaxially with the longitudinal centre axis (8) of the container and whose outer circumference substantially coincides with the outer circumference of the bottom portion (2). Moreover, the bottom portion (2) has a second wall portion (9), which curves to the interior of the container and which is formed within and coaxially with said first wall portion (7). The wall of the bottom portion (2) is formed such that a ray (S1, S2, S3), which at an angle of incidence (α) falls on the outside of the bottom portion (2) at an arbitrary point (a) and which leaves the inside of the bottom portion (2) at a point (b), satisfies the following condition: wherein γ is the increase in inclination between the wall surface of the bottom portion (2) at the point (a) and the wall surface of the bottom portion (2) at the point (b), θ c is the critical angle for total reflection at the point (b) and n D is the refractive index of the bottom portion (2) at the point (b). A blowing mould for producing such a container has surfaces for forming the wall portions (7, 9) which are curved to the interior of the container (1).

A method and an apparatus to thermocrystallize amorphous thermoplastic material in a bottom portion (11) of a preform (10) while producing a container. By means of at least one heating device (20, 30) the plastic material is heated to an elevated temperature at which the material crystallizes thermally. The supply of energy is discontinued once the material crystallizes at a speed entailing that the thus released effect corresponds to or exceeds that effect which departs from the material undergoing crystallization. The apparatus includes a mandrel (26) having a forming surface (24) which at an increased temperature is brought into abutment against a defining surface (18) of the bottom portion. The forming surface has a curvature which deviates from the curvature of the defining surface (18) so that during the initial phase of the abutment the forming surface is abutting against the defining surface only in a central area thereof. On continued displacement of material in the bottom portion in order to form the portion the size of the central area is continuously increased until such time as substantially all thermoplastic material intended for temperature-conditioning abuts against the forming surfaces.

The invention relates to a method for temperature conditioning a blank (10) of plastic material, a conditioning mandrel (20) being placed within the blank (10) and thereafter expanded to reliable abutment against the inner surface of the blank. The mandrel is thereafter displaced back to its starting position. The outer surface of the mandrel is adjusted to and maintained at a certain temperature, whereby, during the abutment, an energy exchange takes place between the blank and the mandrel for adjusting the material temperature of the blank. At high temperatures of the mandrel, the mandrel is displaced out of the blank after such short time that the plastic material in the region of the abutment surface never passes the critical temperature at which tacking between the plastic material and/or thermal crystallization of the plastic material occurs to any appreciable degree. As a rule, this process is repeated one or more times. In an apparatus according to the invention, the dimensions of the conditioning mandrel (20) and the blank (10) are adapted to one another such that, in the position within the blank, the outer surface of the conditioning mandrel abuts, after expansion, against the inner surface of the blank. Control and regulation means are provided for abutment of the conditioning mandrel against the inner surface of the blank during an adjustable time interval.

Date Apr. 20, 1989.The invention relates to a method and a device for the sealing of a container (10) by means of a wafer (20). The container comprises one or more joining means (14, 16) which are adapted so that by a joint (12), e.g. a welding joint, they are connected in a leakproof manner, to the wafer in an edge zone (21) of the same. The wafer is held against a contact surface (32) of a retaining means so as to be moved by the same until it rests in its edge zone (21) against anyone of the joining means (14, 16). While the contact with the retaining means is maintained, the wafer is connected by a fixing means (50) in its edge zone in a leakproof manner to anyone of the joining means through the fixing means supplying energy to the edge zone so that a joint (12) is formed. The invention makes it possible to fix in a leakproof manner a previously cut wafer to the opening part of a container. The sealing can be done even on containers with hot contents, since in certain embodiments the retaining means is cooled with the help of cooling ducts (33). The retaining means cools the wafer and prevents it from being deformed owing to the rise in temperature which the proximity to hot contents otherwise would bring about.

Un anneau d'étanchéité (23) est placé près du bord inférieur du bouchon protecteur entre le bouchon protecteur (25) et le col (2) du récipient et il empêche le passage d'éléments contaminants vers l'intérieur de la région située entre le col du récipient et le bouchon protecteur du récipient fermé hermétiquement.
