摘要: A resonator is provided with a tuning element based on piezoelectricity. The piezoelectric basic element includes at least one piezoelectric layer and a metal layer. Such a basic element is first coated with a thin insulating layer and then with a good conductor. The thickness of the conductive coating is greater than the skin depth of a field corresponding to the operating frequency of the structure in the conductor. The tuning element formed in this manner is fastened on, e.g., some inner surface of the resonator cavity and acts to change the natural frequency of the resonator by electric control. When using the tuning element, no mechanical arrangement is required for moving the tuning element. Furthermore, the tuning element does not cause considerable dielectric losses nor intermodulation when being in a radiofrequency electromagnetic field, because the field cannot significantly penetrate through said conductive coating into the piezoelectric material.

摘要: An amplifier unit (600) to be placed in an antenna mast and being pursuant to a radio system, which uses time division duplex. It comprises a transmitting (621 ) and receiving (622) branch in parallel, and the transmitting branch is used as a bypass path for the LNA (613) in the receiving branch. The unit is set to the transmitting mode, receiving mode and bypass mode by means of pin diode switches (D1-D4, D7-D12). A passive bypass mode comes automatically into effect, if the unit loses its supply voltage. At least one pin switch (D7, D8, D9) is located transversely in the transmitting branch for switching it off, when the unit is set to the receiving mode. The structure comprises advantageously another, redundant, transmitting branch (622) with series switches (D10, D11, D12), which is used for improving on the characteristics of the transmission path of the transmitting signals, when the biasing of the pin switches is possible. The transmitting branches do not significantly degrade the received and amplified signal, because they are switched off when the unit is in the receiving mode, in which case the signals reflected from the lower end of the intermediate cable (CBL) can not propagate back to the input side of the LNA. The transmitting path and receiving path function, although the unit would loose its supply voltage.

摘要: An arrangement for steering the radiation lobe of an array antenna without turning the antenna itself. The radiators of the array antenna (371, 372, 373, 374) are located in the row, and two radiators (371 , 372, 373, 374) which are equidistant from the midpoint of the row, form a radiator pair (371, 372, 373, 374). To steer the radiator lobe, the phase of the signal of one radiator in the pair (371, 373, 372, 374) is e.g. advanced and the phase of the signal of the other radiator (371, 373, 372, 374) is lagged by equivalent amount. For this aim each radiator (371, 372, 373, 374) is fed through a phase shifter comprising at least one reflection line (341, 343) and a separating element (351, 352, 353, 354). The reflection lines (341, 343) for the pair radiators (371, 372, 373, 374) are implemented by a transmission line (321, 322, 323, 324), which is shared between them. The signal to be led to one radiator (371, 373, 372, 374) is fed to one end of this transmission line (321 , 322, 323, 324), and the signal to be led to the other radiator (371, 373, 372, 374) is fed to the opposite end of the same line. In the transmission line (321, 322, 323, 324) there is a reflection point (331, 332), the place of which can be moved. Said phase changes take place by moving the reflection point (331, 332) along the transmission line (321, 322, 323, 324). For moving the reflection point (331, 332), the transmission line (321, 322, 323, 324) has one movable (331, 332) or several fixed reflection circuits. In the former case, the reflection circuits (331, 332) of the different transmission lines (321, 322, 323, 324) are slides attached to one and the same movable arm (361 ). In the latter case, one of the reflection circuits of each transmission line is activated at a time. If the number of the radiator pairs (371, 372, 373, 374) is more than one, the phase adjusting for all the radiator pairs (371, 372, 373, 374) is implemented simultaneously by the common control.

摘要: An arrangement for filtering the transmitting signals in a radio device using frequency division duplex. In a radio transmitter, in which the transmitting signal is divided to a plurality of antennas (ANT1 , ANT2, ANT3) radiating to different sectors, the filtering required in transmitting is mostly carried out by a shared transmitting filter (240) before the transmitting signal is divided. The rest of the filtering is carried out separately on each partial transmitting signal (T1; T2; T3) in the reduced transmitting side (TXF1 ; TXF2; TXF3) of the duplex filter. The filters and the divider (250) preferably form an integrated filter unit, in which they are connected to each other by simple coupling elements. The space required by the filters of the antenna end of the radio device is significantly reduced, and the material and assembly costs of the antenna end in production are reduced.

摘要: A directional coupler (500), which comprises a dielectric substrate (501) on top of a metal plate (510), is functioning as a ground plane. The transmission path is a suspended stripling so that there is a recess on the ground plane below the transmission conductor (520) being on the surface of the substrate. The sensing conductor (530) is a very small-sized conductive strip on the surface of the substrate. It has been connected from its head end to the measurement port (P3) and from its tail end via a termination resistor (550) to a small ground strip (515). The ground strip is next to the sensing conductor on the side of the output port (P2) of the directional coupler. With such an asymmetric structure, some directivity is obtained despite the small size of the sensing conductor. Also below the sensing conductor (530) there is a recess (506) on the ground plane, which joins the recess below the transmission conductor (520). By dimensioning the recess below the sensing conductor suitably, the velocities of the even and odd waveform occurring in the line constituted by it and the ground plane are obtained the same and thus directivity can be improved. The directional coupler is very space saving on the circuit board. As the substrate, an ordinary circuit board material can be used, whereby the board can have in addition to the directional coupler also other parts of radio-frequency circuits. The directional coupler does not require tuning in production.

摘要: The invention relates to an arrangement for bypassing a low noise amplifier unit in the front stage of a radio receiver, especially intended for the base stations of mobile communication networks. The front stage includes, in succession, a divider (420), an amplifier unit (430) comprising two parallel, low noise amplifier branches, and a first combiner (450). The by-pass arrangement includes a second combiner (443), by which the halves (E11, E12) of the received signal are combined immediately after the divider before the amplification. A change-over switch (SW) is then used to select either the signal that has propagated through the amplifier unit and then combined (G-Ε1) or the signal (E1’) that has been directly combined as the output signal of the front stage. Due to the invention, the noise figure of the front stage is improved and the integration of its structure is facilitated.
