摘要： The invention relates to a method for applying digital data to image material (20). According to said method, the print head (71) is transported along a slow-scan direction (Y) and digital image data are applied along a fast-scan direction (X). The print head (71) is switched off from the drive (60) during application of the digital image data for producing a scanning line or a partial or entire image. The passively dampened movement behavior of the non-synchronized print head (71) along the fast-scan direction (X) is detected and stored before and/or during exposure using a sensor system (52, 53) and is used to deduce therefrom high precision synchronization signals for the application of image data by suitable interpolation and/or extrapolation, thereby allowing for a precise application of the image data to the image material (20).
