摘要: A device for supply of heat to body tissue, comprising a heating device (10) and a first temperature transducer (19) which is insertable in the body tissue, the heating device (10) being connected with an energy supply unit (13) governed by a control unit (14) via a catheter for treatment (12) which is insertable in a body cavity and said first temperature transducer (19) being operatively connected to the control unit (14). The control unit (14) is operatively connected with first memory means (15) for storage of data corresponding to the survival of cells as a function of cell temperature. An input device (16) is operatively connected to control unit (14) to enter data such as desired volume/weight of body tissue to which heat is to be supplied to such an extent that the cells of the tissue die, and the control unit (14) being operatively connected to calculation instrument (17) for determining volume and weight of such body tissue whose cells have died as a function of temperature in the tissue at a certain distance from heating device (10).

摘要: A device for treatment of the prostate, comprising a catheter (12) for treatment which is inserted through the urethra, treatment catheter (12) being provided with a front portion that comprises an expandable container (18) for fixation of treatment catheter (12) with said front portion in the urinary bladder (21) and with a drainage channel (13) ending in said front portion for drainage of urinary bladder (21). At least one hollow tip (17; 24) is provided to be extendible from treatment catheter (12) into the surrounding prostate tissue of catheter (12). Said tip (17; 24) is connected with a syringe (34) for supply of an astringent and analgesic medicine. By this method, tip (17; 24) is extended from treatment catheter (12) into the surrounding prostate tissue of catheter (12). An astringent and analgesic medicine is supplied from said syringe (34) and administered to the prostate tissue through said tip (17; 24).

摘要: A device for heat treatment of prostate, comprising a treatment catheter (12) with a fluid reservoir (11) and heating means (10) which is arranged within the treatment catheter (12) and emits electromagnetic radiation for heating of the surrounding bodily tissue. The fluid reservoir (11) constitutes an integrated part of the catheter for treatment and is positioned in the catheter so that, when inserted in a patient, it extends to cover the area heated by the heating means (10) between the prostatic apex and bladder neck (21'). The fluid reservoir (11) also constitues a closed chamber which is connectable via a channel (22) passing through the catheter (12) for treatment. A stop (28) for the heat-absorbing means is embodied distal to said heating means (10) and distal to said heat reservoir (11).

摘要: A partial-length indwelling catheter is anchored in the prostatic urethra by an inflatable balloon in the bladder and a coiled section of inflation tube which contacts the constriction of the urinary canal created by the external urinary sphincter muscle. The catheter drains urine from the bladder through the prostate gland to a position upstream of the external sphincter muscle, thereby allowing the sphincter muscle to naturally control urination. Urine drainage capability is made more resistant obstructions and blood clot accumulations by configurations of urine inlet openings. A low friction coating also resists blood clot accumulation. A single-use or multiple-use clearing device moves within an interior drainage passageway to contact and facilitate movement of the accumulated clots and obstructions out of the urine inlet opening and interior passageway. An insertion tool connects to the catheter to position the catheter for use within the prostatic urethra. Once positioned, the insertion tool is disconnected and withdrawn from the urinary canal. Risks of blood clots obstructing the urine flow passageway are avoided by flushing fluid through the insertion tool and the catheter.
