    摘要: A fall arrest system has a top anchorage bracket (1), a bottom anchorage bracket (2) and a cable (3) between the brackets. Fixture ends (12, 22) of the brackets carry bosses (13, 23) in their bottom and top edges (14, 24) respectively. Cable tension pulls the distal ends of the brackets towards each other about the bolts B and the bosses react with the corner of the pylon. The bracket end (15) is dimensioned such that in the event of a fall and loading of the cable, the bracket (1) deforms plastically, peeling away from the face F. The bottom anchorage bracket (2) has an arm (25) with a bore for a clamp bolt (31), carrying a load transfer bracket (32) and a clamp nut (34). The bolt is engaged in a slot (35) in a slotted limb (36) of the bracket (32). Above the limb, the load transfer bracket (32) is integrally connected via a thin tongue (37) to a sleeve (38) locating the end of the cable. The cable (3) extends through the sleeve to a swaged on collar (40). A tensioning device is used to draw down the limb (36) and tension the cable, whereupon the brackets (2) and (32) are clamped together.

    摘要: An intermediate bracket (1) has a base member (2) comprised of stainless steel rod bent to U-shape. A sleeve member (6) is secured by screws (7) through a lug (8) into the ends of the U. The member has a tongue (9) integral with the lug and a sleeve (10) as such. The sleeve is cut open by a transverse cut (11) and longitudinal cuts (12, 14) on opposite sides from the transverse cut to respective ends of the sleeve to allows the cable to be introduced into the sleeve. The cable is centred in the sleeve by moulded polyamide inserts (21), with a longitudinal slot (22) sized to receive the cable and yet be closed with edges abutting when introduced into the sleeve. The inserts also have rims (23), protecting the cable (C) from touching the ends of the sleeve, anti-rotation swellings (24) which occupy the cuts (12, 14), detents (25) on the inside of the swellings and opposite, complementary openings (26). These engage with each other when the inserts are pushed into the sleeve from opposite ends and abut in the middle.

    摘要: The present invention provides a support for securing a ladder to an anchored pole, the support comprising:
    a. a body provided with pole receiving means;
    b. a ladder securing portion in engagement with the body and adapted to engage with a ladder;
    c. pole securing means mounted on the body, and moveable between an open configuration in which the pole is removable from the pole receiving means and a closed configuration in which the pole is retained within the pole receiving means; and
    d. control means linked to the pole securing means and operable to move the pole securing means between the open configuration and the closed configuration;

    wherein on application of a predetermined force to the control means the pole securing means is moveable from an open to a close configuration. Also provided is a ladder comprising such a support, a method of securing such a ladder in position relative to an anchored pole and a method of arresting the fall of a person climbing such a ladder.
    Also provided is a support for securing a ladder to an anchored pole, the support comprising:
    a. a body;
    b. a ladder securing portion in engagement with the body and adapted to engage with a ladder;
    c. pole securing means mounted on the body and moveable between an open configuration in which the pole is removable from the support and a closed configuration in which the pole is retained in engagement with the support; and
    d. control means coupled to the pole securing means and operable to move the pole securing means between the open configuration and the closed configuration;

    wherein on application of a first predetermined force to the control means the pole securing means is moveable from an open to a closed configuration.
