The direction of transport (5) of the first transport means is oriented parallel to the longitudinal direction of the line of the product, while the direction of transport (6) of the second transport means is oriented crosswise to the longitudinal direction of the line of the product. The section of the product (1') can be displaced from the plane (I.) of the first transport means into the plane (II.) of the second transport means and delivered to said second transport means by a clamping means (2). The aim of the invention is to provide a transport device of this type which can reach a high number of cycles. The invention concerns a guide system for flat material guided by continuous conveyers to processing stations, the strip of material being guided between elements of the continuous conveyer and a stationary counter bearing. Devices are provided for pressing the strip of material against the stationary counter bearing, each pressure device comprising a vertical guide device into which a holder pin held rigid with the frame engages. Adjacent the guide device is at least one pressure spring device. The object of the invention is to prevent the pressure devices from generating noises as far as possible. To that end, the vertical guide device is disposed near the end of the pressure device (3) which is at the front in the guide device approach direction, and the pressure spring device (7) is disposed near the rear end of the pressure device (3).
