摘要: A high availability controller for combining and unifying aspects of a process controller and an electrical controller. A unified namespace combines a process domain namespace and a power domain namespace in a common database of the controller without altering either. The unified namespace maps source device names of the power domain and unique process control names of the process domain. A common record set of sequence of events (SOEs) for the process domain and the power domain is generated and SOEs arising from the power domain are incorporated into the common record set. The controller performs process control and monitoring along with electrical control signaling and monitoring within a single control strategy directly from the controller.

摘要: A system for improving production of a process control system comprises a processor, sensors connected to one or more assets in the process control system, human-machine interfaces, and a storage memory storing instructions for execution on the processor. The system receives process data via the sensors and determines an input cost of the one or more assets and an output value of the one or more assets. The system provides a net production value of the one or more assets based on the determined input cost and output value. The system stores the input cost, output value, and net production value on a storage memory and provides the input cost, output value, and net production value along with critical asset performance information of asset value, asset performance and opportunity costs for each asset and asset set in the operation to a user via the human-machine interfaces.

The method includes conducting web-based communication between a networked computer device and the field device over an Ethernet-APL to allow the networked computer device to access and interact with a web page(s) or program(s) that is hosted on a web server running on the field device. The method also includes configuring at the field device an operation parameter(s) and/or setting(s) of the field device based on user input received across the Ethernet-APL by the field device from user interaction with the web page(s) or program(s) through the networked computer device.

摘要: An alarm rationalization system receiving and responsive to industrial process information collected from a process control system for identifying one or more alarms and executing an artificial intelligence (Al) alarm engine. The AI alarm engine builds a process/domain model based on the received industrial process information and historized alarm information to evaluate the alarms in accordance with a predefined alarm philosophy. The AI alarm engine then generates a plurality of alarm definitions based on the model to optimize the alarms. The AI alarm engine automatically populates a Master Alarm Database (MADB) with the alarm definitions. The alarms are then rationalized based on the alarm definitions stored in the MADB.

摘要: A method is provided for managing availabillity of runtime asset data used by client applications hosted on workstations of an industrial system, the method including distributing runtime asset data about assets of the industrial system received at the plurality of workstations among runtime asset data caches associated with the client applications. At least a portion of locally stored runtime asset data stored on a local runtime asset data cache is replicated and stored remotely on the runtime asset data cache associated with another client application. The method can further involve creating, using the process hazard analysis tool, conditions for hazards in the process based on information learned about the industrial process from the simulation tool; for each of the hazards, simulating the hazards using the simulation tool and attempting to prevent the hazards using the process hazard analysis tool by introducing protective mechanism(s) to the process; and evaluating effectiveness of the introduced protective mechanisms for each of the hazards and creating safety requirements for the process based on the evaluated effectiveness. The safety requirements are used to generate a safety application program, such as for a PLC.
