    Abstract: A threaded connection is provided. The threaded connection comprises: first and second tubular components. The first tubular component comprises: at a first end region a pin with an outer surface on which is formed a male thread; and an opposite second end region. The second tubular component comprises: at a first end region a box with an inner surface on which is formed a female thread; and an opposite second end region. The male thread is arranged to engage the female thread in a made-up configuration. A male electrical contact is provided on the outer surface of the first end region of the first tubular component and insulated from the first tubular component. A female electrical contact is provided on the inner surface of the first end region of the second tubular component and insulated from the second tubular component. A first conductor extends along the outer surface of the first tubular component, in communication with the male electrical contact, and insulated from the first tubular component. A second conductor extends along the second tubular component, in communication with the female electrical contact, and insulated from the second tubular component. The male and female electrical contacts are arranged to contact with each other in the made-up configuration. The male electrical contact has a width in an axial direction of the first tubular component and the female electrical contact has a width in an axial direction of the second tubular component. The width of the female electrical contact is smaller than the width of the male electrical contact, or vice versa.

    Abstract: A protector assembly for covering a pin of a threaded pipe and a method for assembling such a protector assembly. The protector assembly comprises a cover, a retainer and at least one fastener for fastening the retainer to the cover. The cover includes a tubular portion defining a longitudinal axis from a closed end to an open end, the open end defining a rim for axial abutment with the retainer. The retainer has an abutment face for abutment with the rim. The rim comprises a bore extending therethrough. A fastener extends through the bore of the rim and engages the retainer, the fastener extending substantially in parallel with the longitudinal axis and exposed on the cover side of the bore of the rim for engagement by a tool or user to operate the fastener.

    Abstract: A threaded joint for pipes includes a pin member and a box member, the pin member having an external thread configured to correspond to an internal thread of the box member, a thread form of the internal and external threads having generally dovetail-shaped profile with stab flanks and load flanks and flat roots and crests, wherein the internal threads are increasing in width in one direction on the box and the external threads are increasing in width in the other direction on the pin, so the roots, crests, and flanks of the threads move together and form seals that resist the flow of fluids between the seals. The threaded joint further includes a fluoropolymer-based coating applied to specific regions of the internal and external threads and a resin coating disposed in regions of the internal and external threads that are devoid of the fluoropolymer-based coating, wherein the fluoropolymer-based coating and the resin coating are configured to form a layer of substantially uniform thickness on the overall surface of the internal and external threads.

The tubular main body has formed therein a longitudinally-extending bore, through which the longitudinal conductor extends.
