    摘要: A modular reader assembly (10), with a unitary wire frame construction is provided. A pair of eyeglass lenses (46, 48) are releasably engageable with the frame assembly (10) by use of a spring-biased wire frame material. Each of the lenses (46, 48) are secured in place by at least three contact points at notches (54, 56, and 58) positioned at the inner, upper and outer edges of the lenses (46, 48). Lenses of different sizes, configurations, thicknesses and powers are easily accommodated even where the sizes and configurations of the lenses differ between the left and right eyes.

    摘要: The assembly (10) for attaching a side shield (28) to an eyewear temple (14) includes a temple (14) having a first side and a second side. A lock member (30) is connected to the first side of the temple (14) with a lock aperture therethrough. A side shield (28), having a laterally running channel (36), is provided with side walls and a pair of channel apertures (46a, 46b) on opposing sides of the channel (36) and aligned with one another transversely across the channel (36). An eyewear temple (14) resides in the channel (36) of the side shield (28) with the lock aperture residing between and aligned with the pair of channel apertures. A lock pin (48), having an upper end and a lower end, is routed through the pair of channel apertures (46a, 46b) and the lock aperture thereby securing the side shield (28) to the temple (14).

    摘要: A multi-purpose eyeglass retainer (100) is provided which is capable of connecting to a temple (12) of an eyeglass frame in multiple fashions. The retainer (100) includes an elongated, flexible cord (112). A slipknot (114) is formed on both of the free ends of the flexible cord (112). The retainer (100) is connectable to eyeglass temples (12) by slidably receiving the respective slipknots (114). The retainer (100) is also capable of connecting to the free ends of the temples (12) in a 'sport-style' attachment using the same elongated, flexible cord (112). An adapter (102) includes a hook member (108) on one end and a post member (106) on the other end. The slipknot (114) of the elongated, flexible cord (112) is removably connected to the hook member (108). A rubber tube member (110) receives the free end of a temple end (14). The tube (110) is removably connected to the post member (106). The elongated, flexible cord (112) is adapted to connect to the free ends (14) of the temples (12). The adapter (102) and tube (110) may be provided alone without the retainer cord (112) for retrofitting to existing retainer cords that have a slipknot on a free end.
