摘要:
The invention relates to an antibacterial agent comprising, as active product, a haemostatic contact tissue with an acid pH combined with povidone iodine, the haemostatic contact tissue being regenerated or non-regenerated oxidized cellulose. It also relates to a device used for active protection of incision margins and incorporating such an antibacterial agent. The applicant has now demonstrated surprisingly that the combination of regenerated or non-regenerated oxidized cellulose with povidone iodine provided a degree of bacterial inhibition superior to simple use of regenerated or non-regenerated oxidized cellulose on its own or of povidone iodine on its own. This therefore represents a synergistic effect, which yields a novel agent that is both a very powerful haemostatic and also very powerful antibacterial substance.

摘要:
The invention relates to a device for active protection of the margins of an incision (5) and intended to prevent development of infections, comprising a surgical drape (1) in which a total or partial incision window (2) is formed, characterized in that: the inner face of the borders of the incision window (2) is covered by a first layer (4a) of a material intended to absorb the incision secretions and by a second layer (4b) impregnated with an antiseptic haemostatic product whose purpose is to prevent the development of infections, the second layer (4b) partially covering the first layer (4a), said first layer being wider than said second layer; the second layer (4b) is formed in such a way that it can come into contact with the incision margins (5) and covers the upper part and lower part of the incision upon placement of a retractor (6). These technical features allow the practitioner to place the borders of the incision window directly in the area of the incision margins in order to effectively protect them.
