A frequency domain diffuse optical spectroscopy (FD-DOS) device and calibration method. The FD-DOS device includes a radio frequency signal generator, a driver, a light source, a silicon photomultiplier, an analog to digital conversion circuit, and an electronic processing circuit. The light source is configured to generate modulated light at a plurality of different wavelengths and modulation frequencies. The silicon photomultiplier is configured to generate analog detection signals indicative of detected optical signals. The analog to digital conversion circuit is configured to generate digital sample values from the analog detection signals. The electronic processing circuit is configured to determine absorption values and scattering values based on the digital sample values. The electronic processing circuit is also configured to determine concentration values based on the absorption values and the scattering values. The electronic processing circuit is further configured to determine an image stream based on the concentration values.

Disclosed are purification systems and methods for providing purified preparations of antibodies from a fluid, particularly a biological fluid comprising or suspected to contain antibody (e.g., blood, serum, plasma, ascites fluid). Reusable and stable synthetic purification columns comprising membranes of a suitable separation matrix material, such as a nylon membrane or regenerated cellulose membrane, having conjugated thereto a small molecule capture ligand, such as a short peptide or protein capable of acting as a ligand for a particular antibody of interest, such as a peptide having a sequence with binding affinity for a nucleotide binding site (NBS) of a selected antibody of interest, are also provided. Methods of preparing the purification columns are also disclosed. Methods for preparing high yield and high purity therapeutic antibody preparations, such as anti-cancer therapeutics, from a biological fluid, are also presented.

A diesel soot filter includes a substrate having a surface disposed at least partially within a fluid path of the diesel soot filter. A glass catalyst is disposed on the surface of the substrate such that an exhaust gas contacts at least a portion of a surface of the glass catalyst as the exhaust gas moves within the diesel soot filter. The glass catalyst comprises a plurality of alkali metal ions disposed within the glass catalyst and releasable to the surface of the glass catalyst at a controlled rate and the alkali metal ions combust with the soot as the exhaust gas travels along the fluid path. An oxide basis of the glass catalyst comprises Silicon (Si), Potassium (K), Cesium (Ce), and Zirconium (Zr).

An electrolyte and a method to electroplate a metal on a substrate using the electrolyte are described. The electrolyte includes an imidazolium compound, a metal salt, and water. The imidazolium compound has formula (I) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 are each independently selected from an H atom and an organic radical. L− is a compatible anion. The metal salt can include but is not limited to salts of the metals Li, Mg, Ca, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Bi, La, Ce, Al, Ag, Au, Ga, V, In, Nb, Mo, and W.
