    摘要: The invention relates to a method for coating adhesive surfaces of fixing elements with a hot-melt adhesive, and to a device for carrying out said coating method. Base surfaces (5) of recesses (2) are formed by tappets (6), whereby the lateral walls thereof are displacably guided in the recesses (2). A displaceable container (9) which is used to fill up the adhesive powder in the recesses (2) is arranged next to the recesses (2). The side edges (10) of the container (9) cover a working plate (1). A slit (11) which is used to receive the securing element (4) is arranged on the other side of the recesses (2), said slit being provided with continuous holes (12) for the tappets (6). A pressure stamp (13) provided with a pressure plate (14) which is lowered onto the securing element (4) is arranged over the recesses (2). A heating station (15) which is used to heat the securing element prior to heating the recesses (2) to the desired heating temperature is arranged at a distance from the slits (11).

    摘要: A method and an apparatus are provided for the production of heat-activable adhesive pellets which can be formed into elements for holding an article to a surface such as a glass surface. The apparatus and method for the manufacture of the heat-activable pellets includes the steps of introducing at least a first component comprising at least one difunctional polymer with at least one Multifunctional polymer into an extruder, heating the first component, introducing a second component comprising isocyanate and a powder flow enhancer (such as fumed silica) at a point downstream of the introduction of the first component, combining the first and second components in the extruder to form a flowable compound, pelletizing the extruded compound exiting the extruder by cutting to form heat-activable adhesive pellets, and drying the pellets. In one embodiment of the disclosed invention a catalyst is applied to the pellets to form catalyst-coated heat-activable adhesive pellets. In another embodiment of the disclosed invention a catalyst is added into the extruder to form catalyst-containing heat- activable adhesive pellets.

    摘要: A heat-activable powder adhesive composition for use in bonding a component to a surface such as glass is disclosed. The composition of the disclosed invention includes at least two polymers, at least one solid di- or poly-isocyanate in powder form, and a catalyst. The two polymers each have a melting point above 40 °C and are selected from the group consisting of di-functional polymers and multi¬ functional polymers. The preferred method of preparing the composition of the disclosed invention includes first forming three parts, including a first melted part comprising the polymers, a second melted part comprising the polymers and a catalyst, and a third part comprising the isocyanate. Once cooled, each of the first and second parts forms solid blocks which are fragmented and sieved. The three dry parts are then brought together to form the adhesive powder of the disclosed invention. The adhesive powder can be pre-applied to the attachment surface of a component to be bonded. The composition does not require either a deactivating agent or a blocking agent for deactivating the isocyanate or the catalyst nor does it require either a deactivated isocyanate or a deactivated catalyst.
