摘要: The invention relates to a valve, especially a ball valve, comprising a base body (7) provided with a through-opening (8), a mobile valve body (3) for closing and freeing the through-opening (8), and an actuating mechanism which is used to displace the valve body (3) in order to free the through-opening (8). Said actuating mechanism comprises at least two wire-shaped elements (2) consisting of a shape memory alloy, said elements being fixed to the base body (7) or to a carrier body (1) connected thereto, and shortening alternately on each side when the temperature increases above a threshold temperature. Said elements are actively connected to the valve body (3) such that, if one element (2) is shortened on one side, the valve body can be displaced from a stable position on the through-opening (8) to a stable position close to the through-opening (3), and if the other element (2) is shortened on one side, the valve body can be moved back to the stable position on the through-opening (8). The actuating mechanism of the valve can be embodied in a compact manner and requires only a minimum amount of energy when in operation.
