According to a first aspect, the invention relates to an access node device (1) for managing upstream network traffic. The device (1) comprises one or more wireline and/or wireless access line interfaces (10,11) for receiving resources from active wireline users (7) and wireless users (8). The access node device (1) further comprises a traffic prediction module adapted to predict upstream traffic pattern for the active wireline users (7) and wireless users (8). The access node device further comprises a resource usage module configured to detect insufficient link capacity for forwarding the received resources. The access node device (1) further comprises a dynamic resources scheduler adapted to adjust upstream traffic when insufficient link capacity is detected by the resource usage module. The upstream traffic is adjusted by allocating a substantially equal share of link capacity to the active wireline users (7) and wireless users (8) based on the predicted upstream traffic pattern.

A communication parameters leveler (CPL) for regulating communication between several users or players (Client 1, Client 2) located at geographically separated locations and a telecommunication server (GS) that is preferably a game server. The different quality of communication experienced by the different players may lead to disadvantage some players with respect to others. Therefore, in order to avoid disadvantaging some users with respect to others, the parameters leveler comprises a parameters detector for collecting the communication parameters of each player that connects to the game server, a parameters storage device for storing these parameters, and a network emulator for modifying the parameters of each user in order to obtain similar communication parameters for all the users coupled to the game server.
