摘要： A security container (1) for storing various articles is formed with a groove (24) along one edge of a cover (10) which extends parallel with a similar groove (28) formed on a base (2) of the container, when the cover is in a closed position on the base. A generally U-shaped slide latch (35) is slidably removably mounted in the spaced grooves for movement therealong between locked and unlocked positions. A plurality of projections (44, 45, 46) on the slide latch engage flexible (30, 31, 32) on the base to secure the slide latch in locked position upon an open end of the slide latch reaching a stop (34) formed on an end of the base. A manually operated key (50) has tangs (53) which are inserted through openings (42) formed in the slide latch to disengage the flexible tabs from the projections, permitting the slide latch to be slidably removed from the container grooves enabling the cover to be opened from the base. The locking projections (44, 45, 46) and flexible tabs (30, 31, 32) are in stepped offset relationship to enable the projections to move past the tabs once released from engagement therewith.

摘要： A security container (1, 50) for holding and displaying an article (2, 55) such as a package containing a compact disc, audiocassette or videocassette, comprised of a base (3,51) and a pivotally mounted lid (4, 52). The base has an external size and shape generally equal to that of the article to be secured within an interior compartment formed by the base. The lid is pivotally mounted on the base by a pair of posts (26) located on side walls of the base which are spaced from one of the end walls a sufficient distance to provide an end of the container having a thickness equal to the thickness of the article contained therein. This thickness of the end of the container enables the container to be placed within a display rack heretofore useable only for an unsecured package. A recess (48, 56) is formed in an inside surface of the lid for receiving and protecting a security detection device within the container. A lock (30) is formed on the inside of the base by a plurality of flexible fingers (31) which are formed on the lid and which are engageable with angled projections formed on the base. Key openings (39) are formed in the base in alignment with the angled locking projections whereby a key can be inserted through the openings to remove the flexible fingers from the projections to unlock the lid to remove a cassette from the storage container.
