Abstract: A 2-dimensional code formation method includes: a step of specifying the code size of a 2-dimensional code; a step of specifying storage information which is written into the 2-dimensional code; a step of deciding the cell size of a unit cell constituting the 2-dimensional code; a step of specifying the step size or the number of dots arranged vertically and horizontally n × m (n and m are natural numbers) within the unit cell; a step of generating laser marking information according to the code size, the storage information, the cell size, the step size or the number of dots; and a step of laser-marking the 2-dimensional code according to the laser marking information.
