The invention relates to a method for producing N,N-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate by the transesterification reaction of an alykl acrylate by N1N-dimethylaminoethanol, and more particularly relates to a method for purifying the azeotropic fraction generated during said reaction, thereby enabling the recycling thereof on the alkyl acrylate production unit. The aim of the method of the invention is in particular to remove the acetaidehyde and the dialkoxyethane contained in the azeotropic fraction, either by the direct distillation of the azeotropic fraction or by the distillation of the aqueous phase resulting from the water scrubbing of the azeotropic fraction.

The invention concerns a improved method for making linear, branched or cyclic C1-C15 alkyl (meth)acrylates, by direct esterification of (meth)acrylic acid with a corresponding alcohol, said reaction being catalyzed by sulfuric acid. The method includes a step of hydrolyzing (11) the neutralizing aqueous flow (9) followed by extraction (13) of the residual (meth)acrylic acid with a solvent (15) consisting entirely or partly of the alcohol used in the reaction. The present invention relates to a composition including a dialkyl tin oxide, such as DBTO, which can be used as a transesterification catalyst for the synthesis of (meth)acrylic esters. The invention also relates to a method for the synthesis of (meth)acrylic esters by transesterification in the presence of said composition. The composition of the invention is a solution with a concentration of dialkyl tin oxide. The composition is easy to implement in a continuous process and results in an enhanced selectivity in relation to solid DBTO or the homolog thereof. Advantageously, the compounds used for producing the solution of dialkyl tin oxide are the reagents used in the transesterification reaction and with or without the product of said reaction.
