摘要： A power latching mechanism (19) for use on automobile closures is disclosed, comprising a pin member (20), a keeper member (21) having a hollow cylindrical body which receives the pin member (20), a motor (23) for urging engagement between the pin member (20) and the keeper member (21), and a spring (29) and associated hardware (28,33,37) for selectively retaining the pin member (20) in the keeper member (21). In one embodiment, the keeper member (21) retentively engages the pin member (20) when the pin member (20) is manually inserted thereinto and is also manually disengageable.
