If the slot width is reduced with a decrease in the number of laminated plates of a ring, a die stress sharply increases, thereby hindering production. Elements satisfy (h/t) 40, where h is a slot width of the elements, t is a plate thickness thereof, and S is a head area thereof. Even if the slot width h is reduced, increasing the head area reduces a hydrostatic pressure applied in a punching process, and thus, reduces the load on a die. The present invention is preferably used in endless metal belts in which elements having a width on a pitch line of 24 [mm], and a ring is formed by laminating six plates.

To provide a power transmission belt and a method of producing the same that allows lightweight elements to be produced at low cost and allows the durability to be sufficiently ensured, the power transmission belt (10) includes a plurality of elements (12A) each having both side end surface portions, a rocking edge portion (21) rockably engaged with either one of a pair of other elements (12P, 12F) neighboring the element, and a concave-convex engagement portion (22) engageable with the pair of other elements (12P, 12F), in which each of the elements (12A) has a plate-like portion (23), a first convex portion (24) projecting from one surface (23c) of the plate-like portion, and a second convex portion (25) projecting from the one surface (23c) of the plate-like portion (23) in a spaced relationship with the first convex portion (24) to constitute the rocking edge portion (21), and each of the elements (12A) is engaged with the pair of other elements (12P, 12F) so as to press against one another by the first convex portion (24) and the second convex portion (25).
