Further disclosed is a hard surface vacuum cleaning device (10; 100) for performing the method.

The invention relates to a method for controlling the operational mode of a cleaning device, in particular a high pressure cleaning device, wherein a pump (12) transports cleaning fluid by means of a pressure line (18) to a closeable injection nozzle. A signal transmitter (26) is coupled to the pressure line, which produces control signals according to the pressure in the pressure line. The aim of the invention is to improve said method in such a manner that the cleaning device can be controlled in a constructively simple and reliable manner by the injection nozzle. According to the invention, a first control signal is provided by the signal transmitter by closing the injection nozzle and a second control signal is also provided by the signal transmitter by subsequently re-opening the injection nozzle, and the operational mode of the cleaning device is controlled according to the duration of the time interval between both control signals. The invention also relates to a cleaning device, in particular a high pressure cleaning device which is used to carry out said method.

In order to develop the vacuum cleaner in such a way that it permits particularly effective cleaning of the filter, the invention proposes that the magnetic holding means has a solenoid which can be acted on by a field current in order to close the closing valve, and that the valve body can be continuously moved from the closed position, via the open position, back to the closed position in the event of the field current being interrupted, wherein the switch-off time of the field current is matched to the movement time of the valve body.
