The fluid-containing particles that are to be dried are transported in the form of a moving-bed in a counter-flow to a drying fluid. When the pressure of the fluid becomes near critical or supercritical, the interfacial tension of said fluid is reduced, preferably to a value ranging from 0-1/10, especially from 0-1/20 of the interfacial tension at room temperature. The invention also relates to a method for the production of microporous, cross-linked particles by producing microporous fluid-containing particles, replacing the porous fluid contained in said particles with a fluid and by drying the particles containing the liquid. Fluid replacement and drying is carried out in a moving bed in a counterflow.

The invention also relates to a method for producing microporous, spatially cross-linked particles in which said drying method is applied. In addition, the invention relates to a device for carrying out the drying method. The device comprises a pressure vessel having an inner vessel and a pressure-carrying outer vessel. Said device also comprises suited measuring and regulating devices as well as pumping and heat exchange devices, whereby the inner vessel is provided for accommodating the particles which are to be dried.
