Abstract: The invention relates to a soft-magnetic powder coated with a silicon based coating, wherein the silicon based coating comprises at least one of the following fluorine containing compositions: a) a fluorine containing composition of formula (I) €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ Si 1-0,25a M1 a O 2-0,5b F b €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(I) wherein a is in the range of 0.015 to 0.52, b is in the range of 0.015 to 0.52, M1 is H, K, Rb, Cs or NR 1 4 , wherein each R 1 is independently selected from the group consisting of H, C 1-6 alkyl, phenyl and benzyl; or b) a fluorine containing composition of formula (II) €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ Si 1-0,75c M2 c O 2-0,5d F d €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(II) wherein c is in the range of 0.005 to 0.17, d is in the range of 0.015 to 0.52, M2 is B or Al; or c) a fluorine containing composition of formula (III) €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ Si 1-1,25e P e O 2-0,5f F f €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(III) wherein e is in the range of 0.003 to 0.10, f is in the range of 0.015 to 0.52. The invention further relates to a process of coating the soft-magnetic powder, the use of such soft-magnetic powder and an electronic component including such soft-magnetic powder.

Abstract: The invention relates to a soft-magnetic powder comprising a core of a soft-magnetic material and a coating, the coating comprising an insulation treatment compound and an inhibitor, the inhibitor being: (a) a carboxylic acid with the general formula (I) wherein R 1 is a single bond or C 1 -C 6 -alkylene, R 2 to R 6 are each independently H, OH, -X-COOH, C 1 -C 6 -alkyl, C 2 -C 6 -alkenyl, C 2 -C 6 -alkynyl, C 3 -C 7 -cycloalkyl, C 6 -C 12 -aryl, COOR 7 , OR 8 , or two adjacent groups R 2 to R 6 together form a ring, X is a single bond or C 1 -C 6 -alkylene; R 7 , R 8 are C 1 -C 20 -alkyl; or a salt of the carboxylic acid, and/or (b) a compound of the general formula (II) €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ (R 9 -O-)(R 10 -O-)(R 11 -O-)PO€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(II) wherein R 9 to R 11 independently of each other indicate C 1 -C 20 -alkyl, C 2 -C 20 -alkenyl, C 2 -C 6 -alkynyl, C 3 -C 7 -cycloalkyl, C 6 -C 12 -aryl, unsubstituted or substituted with one or more groups selected from OH and NH 2 , or R 9 to R 11 are each independently a polydiol moiety having a molecular weight Mw of 500 to 30000 g/mol which is optionally capped at the end by -C 1 -C 20 -alkyl and/or at the connection to O atom bonding to P by C 1 -C 20 -alkylene, or R 10 , R 11 are each independently H.
