    摘要: Apparatus, products, and methods are described that relate to blending various disparate optical surfaces in a smooth and continuous manner. In cross section, the two disparate surfaces are represented as meridional profiles. A blend zone profile is described by a single third-order polynomial. In the case of rotationally symmetric optics, one cross-section suffices for the description of the entire surface. In the case of non-rotationally symmetric optics, an increased number of cross-sections are necessary to produce the desired three-dimensional surface, thus meridional profiles are calculated at selected azimuthal locations to describe the full surface.

    摘要: A multi-optic accommodating intraocular lens (A-IOL) (40) for implantation in a capsular bag of an eye having an optical axis, includes a posterior component (44), an anterior component (42) that is translatable relative to the posterior component along an optical axis of the A-IOL, and a biasing element (46) that joins at least a portion of the anterior component and at least a portion of the posterior component. The A-IOL is quantitatively-characterized by an axial compression characteristic such as a spring constant or an axial restoring force. The axial compression characteristic is capable of keeping the components sufficiently vaulted apart for enabling near vision yet weak enough to allow the eye's accommodative mechanism to pull the optics close together for distance vision.

    摘要: An intraocular lens comprises an optic portion having a peripheral edge and at least two haptics. Each haptic is integrated with the peripheral edge of the optic portion by a corresponding haptic integration region. Also, each haptic comprises a distal segment region and a deformation segment region. The distal segment region has an outer distal length bounded by a proximate endpoint and a distal endpoint on an outer surface of the haptic, and is scribed by a distal segment angle α of 20° to 30°. The distal segment angle has a segment origin that lies within a radial segment bound by a radial distance 1.5 mm to 1.9 mm from an optic center and a segment angle θ of from 30° to 45° from a vertical axis. The vertical axis extends through the distal endpoint of at least one haptic and the optic center.
