摘要:
The present invention provides a holder/package for supporting a two optic accommodating intraocular lens device. The holder/package is capable of holding the device, for example while taking measurements or performing manufacturing process steps on the device and/or for packaging and shipping of the device. In a preferred embodiment, the holder/package supports the device along first and second haptics thereof with the optics substantially untouched by the holder/package.

A casting mold (30,70) is provided for forming a biomedical device including an ophthalmic device such as a contact lens. The casting mold includes an anterior mold section (30) and a posterior mold section (70), wherein one of the mold sections includes a plurality of radially extending ribs (90) and the remaining mold section includes an annular shoulder (44) for engaging an outer end (94) of the ribs (90) to define a mold cavity (13).
摘要:
A method, device and trays for transferring ophthalmic lenses from one work station to another. The first tray supports the lenses after release from the mold. The second tray supports the lenses during further processing including surface treatment. The articles are precisely placed and inverted as they are transferred from the first tray unto the second tray. Additionally, both sides of the ophthalmic lenses may be plasma reacted while supported on the second tray.

Apparatus and method for cutting an IOL optic from an IOL blank whereby the resultant IOL optic has a square edge and the cutting is performed in a combined linear and rotational cutting movement. In another aspect, an IOL optic is provided which includes a square edge and helically shaped striations formed therein to help reduce glare.
