摘要:
In an image recording apparatus, a desired recording sheet is automatically selected from a sheet feeding section that is provided with plural types of image recording sheets (11-14) at least one of which is a photosensitive and pressure-sensitive recording sheet, based on encoded data that corresponds to the individual types of recording sheets. The selected recording sheet is fed through feeding means (108) to an image recording section (30, 107) where an image recording operation is performed in accordance with the type of the selected sheet.

A hot melt ink suitable for a printer device which comprises at least one wax substance having a melting point at a temperature from 50°C to 150°C, and a colouring material substantially free of ingredients which are not soluble in the colouring material of the at least one wax substance. The absence of insoluble ingredients means that the hot melt ink does not clog the printing head of printers in which it is used.

An image recording apparatus (1) includes a light source (3) for irradiating a microcapsule carrying photo-sensitive/pressure sensitive recording medium (P) for forming a latent image on it corresponding to an image of an original (G) upon photo-curing of the microcapsules, and a pressure unit (8) for developing an image on the photo-sensitive/pressure sensitive recording medium (P) upon rupture of remaining microcapsules. The apparatus includes control means (28) for controlling the atmosphere around at least the photo-sensitive/pressure sensitive recording medium (P) to within allowable ambient conditions so that development is carried out under optimum conditions. Typically both the temperature and humidity of the medium are controlled. Typically in an image transfer method, the photo-sensitive/pressure sensitive recording medium (P) includes a photo-sensitive pressure sensitive sheet which carries microcapsules encapsulating chromogenic material, photo sensitive composition and photo poymerization initiator, and a separate developer member (12) which carries a developer agent which reacts with the chromogenic material in the pressure unit (8). In a self-contained method, the photo-sensitive/pressure sensitive recording medium (P) includes a single sensitive sheet which carries all such substances.

A pigment for ink-jet recording contains a porous particle 1, a sealing agent 4, and an inorganic pigment layer 5 containing an inorganic pigment. The sealing agent 4 is arranged in a pore opening 3 of the porous particle 1. The inorganic pigment layer 5 is formed on the surface of the porous particle 1.

A hot melt ink which comprises at least one wax, at least one colouring material, a first resin which has a softening point from room temperature to 100°C, and a second resin which has a softening point from 50°C to 150° and higher than the softening point of the first resin can be used to record images on recording media, for instance by means of a hot melt ink jet printer.
