Polyols are produced by an alkoxylation process in which a vegetable oil containing hydroxyl functional groups is combined with a DMC catalyst to form a mixture, the DMC catalyst is then activated by adding ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide to the vegetable oil/catalyst mixture, and ethylene oxide and propylene oxide are added to the mixture containing activated DMC catalyst in amounts such that the total of percentage of ethylene oxide in the polyol plus percentage of primary hydroxyl groups in the polyol produced is from 50 to 77% and the percentage of primary hydroxyl groups is at least 30% but less than 50%. These polyols are useful for the production of molded polyurethane foams, particularly, hot-cure molded polyurethane foams.

This invention relates to polyurethane foams which exhibit decreased aldehyde emission, to a process of preparing these polyurethane foams, and to a method of decreasing aldehyde emissions in foams. The polyurethane foams herein additionally comprise a small quantity of a polyhydrazodicarbonamide dispersion polyol to the isocyanate-reactive component, or a trimerized hexamethylene diisocyanate to the polyisocyanate component.

This invention relates to hybrid polymer polyols. These hybrid polymer polyols comprise the free-radical polymerization product of (A) a base polyol comprising (1) a polymer modified polyol selected from (a) dispersions of polyureas and/or polyhydrazodicarbonamides in a hydroxyl group containing compound and (b) polyisocyanate polyaddition polyols, and (2) optionally, a polyol having a functionality of 2 to 6 and an OH number of from 20 to 500; (B) optionally, a preformed stabilizer; and (C) one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, in the presence of (D) a free-radical polymerization initiator, and (E) optionally, a polymer control agent. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of these hybrid polymer polyols, foams prepared from these hybrid polymer polyols and to a process for the preparation of these foams.
