摘要： We present and describe a device for connecting plastic pipes, consisting essentially of a welding ring having an extension hose with an inner cavity, a resistance wire being preferably wound spirally around the extension hose and being, in turn, encased in a plastic sheath which provides a firmly bonded joint of the abutting plastic pipes after melting, as well as a method for arranging a welding ring in a groove of a plastic pipe. The aim of the invention is to provide a new device for connecting plastic pipes – briefly called a welding ring – which can be fastened to the fitting of a plastic pipe in an easier and faster way, whereby damage to the welding ring should be eliminated. This aim is achieved by providing the welding ring with at least one inwards extending loop before the installation.

摘要： Installation method for a welding ring (2), comprising the steps:
· providing a first (3) and a second pipe arranged to be joined together coaxially such that one end of the second pipe surrounds one end of the first pipe (3)
· preheating and setting a welding ring (2) having a body and at least one resistance wire wound around the body and being encased by a plastic sheath, into a sealing groove (5) on the outside of the first pipe (3),
· assembling one end of the second pipe onto the end of the first pipe (3) equipped with the welding ring (2) and
· connecting the ends (6) of the at least one resistance wire of the welding ring (2) to an electrical power source (7) in order provide a current to heat the welding ring (2) and achieve a material bond of the welding ring (2) with the surrounding pipe walls.
