    Abstract: Various embodiments for contextual tapping engines. For example, an application executing on a computing device may authenticate credentials associated with an account and detect a tap of a contactless card to the computing device. The application may receive, from a communications interface of the contactless card, action data used to determine an action associated with the tap of the contactless card to the computing device. The application may determine a context of the application based on a current output of the application. The application may determine, based on the action data, the determined context, and data associated with the account, a first action associated with the tap of the contactless card to the computing device, the first action associated with at least one of the application and an operating system (OS). The application may initiate performance of the first action based on the tap of the contactless card.

    Abstract: An authentication application may receive, from a merchant application of a client device, a merchant identifier, a transaction identifier of a transaction, encrypted data, and a location of the client device. The authentication application may decrypt the encrypted data based at least in part on a private key. The authentication application may determine that the contactless card has been used to make a previous purchase with the merchant and that the location of the client device is within a threshold distance of a known location associated with a contactless card. A virtual account number generator may generate a virtual account number and transmit the merchant identifier, the transaction identifier, the virtual account number, an expiration date, and a card verification value (CW) to a merchant server associated with the merchant to process the transaction using the transaction identifier, the virtual account number, the expiration date, and the CVV.

    Abstract: A method, comprising: receiving, by an application executing on a processor of a device, a uniform resource locator (URL) and a cryptogram from a contactless card associated with an account; transmitting, by the application associated with the URL, the cryptogram to an authentication server; receiving, by the application, a decryption result from the authentication server indicating the authentication server decrypted the cryptogram; transmitting, by the application based on the decryption result, a request for a one-time passcode (OTP) comprising an identifier to the URL; receiving, by the application, an input value; and based on a determination that a comparison of the input value to a copy of the OTP received by the device from the OTP generator at the URL results in a match, (i) displaying, by the application, one or more attributes of the account on the device and/or (ii) authorizing, by the application, performance of a requested operation.
