摘要: Provided is a particulate filter in which a PM collection rate is stably increased. The particulate filter according to the present invention includes a substrate 10 having a wall flow structure having a porous partition wall 16 that partitions an inlet cell and an outlet cell, and a wash coat layer held on surfaces of internal pores of the partition wall. In addition, average filling rates A, B, and C of the wash coat layer measured for each predetermined pore diameter range in the internal pores satisfy specific relationships. Further, the wash coat layer is formed in a region that occupies 50% or more of a thickness of the partition wall, and an amount of a noble metal catalyst carried by the wash coat layer is 0 g/L or more but 0.2 g/L or less.

The mass of the catalyst layer 40 per unit volume of the base material 10 is from 105 g/L to 210 g/L, the mass of the upstream-side catalyst layer 20 per unit volume in an upstream-side portion 10A is from 50 g/L to 100 g/L, the mass of the downstream-side catalyst layer 30 per unit volume in a downstream-side portion 10B is from 100 g/L to 150 g/L, the Ce amount per unit volume of the base material 10 is from 14 g/L to 35 g/L, and the Ce amount per unit volume in the upstream-side portion 10A is from 5 g/L to 20 g/L.

摘要: The technology disclosed herein provides a particulate filter that can appropriately avoid PM from passing toward the outlet cell and can exhibit an excellent PM capturing performance. The particulate filter 1 disclosed herein includes: an outercoat layer 20 provided on an inlet surface 16a of a partition 16 of a base material 10. The outercoat layer 20 at least includes: a lower layer 22 provided on the inlet surface 16a of the partition 16; and an upper layer 24 provided to cover the lower layer 22. The mean particle diameter of granules contained in the upper layer 24 is higher than the mean particle diameter of granules contained in the lower layer. The mean particle diameter of the granules in the lower layer 22 is from 0.4 µm to 2.0 µm inclusive, and the mean particle diameter of the granules in the upper layer 24 is from 2.0 µm to 7.0 µm inclusive. With such a configuration, PM can be captured in an inlet cell 12, thereby suitably avoiding PM from passing toward an outlet cell 14 and exhibiting an excellent PM capturing performance.

The inlet layers 22 and the outlet layers 24 partially overlap with each other. Accordingly, PM collection performance can be easily enhanced in an inlet region, and high gas distributability (pressure loss suppression performance) can be maintained in the outlet region. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a particulate filter capable of achieving high levels of PM collection performance and pressure loss suppression performance.

摘要: Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst in which the performance of a catalyst metal can be brought out properly, the purification catalyst boasting excellent purification performance during warm-up of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas purification catalyst 10 is provided with a substrate 1 and a catalyst layer. A leading end section 1a positioned upstream in the direction of exhaust gas flow (arrow) has a portion in which the flow rate of exhaust gas is relatively high and a portion in which the flow rate of exhaust gas is relatively low during warm-up of the internal combustion engine. The catalyst layer in the portion of relatively high flow rate of exhaust gas has a high density section 6 in which a noble metal is supported at relatively high density. The high density section 6 is formed to be shorter than the total length of the exhaust gas purification catalyst 10 from the leading end section 1a in the direction of exhaust gas flow.
