摘要:
The present invention is related with polypeptides which show an increased activity compared with tilapia growth hormone. These polypeptides are able to stimulate growth, survival and the quality of fish and crustaceans larvae. Also, they increase the defences against pathogens and stimulate parameters related with the immune system of aquatic organisms. The polypeptides encoding genes were cloned into a Pichia pastoris expression vector. This vector allows the extracellular expression of the target proteins. The culture supernatants which contain the target polypeptides were administrated by immersion baths or as a feed additive to aquatic organisms.
摘要:
The present invention relates to antimicrobial peptides, isolated and purified from extracts of tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) gills. Such peptides may be produced by chemical synthesis or by expression in heterologous systems, such as bacteria and yeasts, by conventional molecular biology techniques. These peptides show antimicrobial activity against various organisms, including Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria, fungi and viruses. The invention also includes compositions for controlling pathogens comprising these antimicrobial peptides. The use of such peptides in vaccine preparations, as molecular adjuvants, is also part of the invention.
摘要:
The invention relates to polypeptides which demonstrate an activity greater than tilapia growth hormone. The aforementioned polypeptides can stimulate the growth, survival and quality of fish and crustacean larvae. In addition, the polypeptides increase the defence of the organism against pathogenic agents and stimulate parameters relating to the immune system of aquatic organisms. The genes that code for said polypeptides were cloned in a Pichia pastoris expression vector which can be used to obtain extracellular protein. The culture supernatant containing the polypeptides in question was administered to aquatic organisms using immersion baths or as a feed supplement.
