Pulverulent polycondensation products are described, comprising a) from 5 to 95% by weight of a polycondensation product based on an aromatic or heteroaromatic compound (A) having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms or heteroatoms having at least one oxyethylene or oxypropylene radical and an aldehyde (C) selected from the group of formaldehyde, glyoxylic acid and benzaldehyde or mixtures thereof, and b) from 5 to 95% by weight of a finely divided mineral support material having a specific surface area of from 0.5 to 500 m2/g (according to BET to DIN 66 131). The inventive pulverulent polycondensation products are outstandingly suitable in building material mixtures in an amount of from 0.1 to 5% by weight, based on the weight of the building material. The pulverulent polycondensation products have a number of advantages in this context, for example excellent storage stability, good liquefying action at low dosage and technically simple production.

The invention relates to amphiphilic polymer compounds that are produced in such a manner that: a) a di-, tri- or tetraglycidyl compound (A) is reacted with an optionally unsaturated reactive constituent (B), comprised of a C8-C28 fatty acid, a C8-C28 alcohol or of a C8-C28 secondary amine, afterwards; b) the reaction product from step a) is permitted to react with an aliphatic or aromatic polyisocyanate compound (C), and finally; c) the reaction product from step b) is reacted with a polyalkene oxide compound (D) of general formula (I), in which R1 = H, a linear or branched and optionally unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical with 1 to 12 C atoms, R2 = a linear or branched and optionally unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical with 1 to 30 C atoms or represents phenyl, m = 0 to 250, n = 3 to 350, and x = 1 to 12, and the ethylene oxide, i.e. higher alkene oxide units, can be distributed in any manner in the polyalkene oxide compound (D). The inventive polymer compounds are excellently suited for use as agents for preventing or suppressing bloomings on surfaces of hardened, hydraulically settable building material compounds and/or for imparting water repellency to the corresponding hydraulically settable systems. In addition, the corresponding products absorb distinctly less water due to the inventive additive whereby enabling a distinct reduction in frost damages and in a rapid rusting of reinforcing steel.

The invention relates to copolymers based on phosphorous-containing monomers (A) and on macromonomers (B), to methods for the production thereof and to their use as additives for inorganic binding agent suspensions based on cement, lime, gypsum and anhydrite. The corresponding polymeric additives have, as flow agents, excellent water-reducing properties and hold the flowability of the concrete over a relatively long period of time (60 to 90 min.) to an almost unchanged level without having delayed action. In addition, the corresponding polymeric additives improve the processing and setting processes of the building materials produced with these additives by making possible earlier and higher resistances to pressure.

Copolymers based on unsaturated monocarboxylic or dicarboxylic acid derivatives, oxyalkylene glycol alkenyl ethers and, if appropriate, vinylic polyalkylene glycol or ester compounds and also their use as additives for aqueous suspensions based on mineral or bituminous binders, in particular cement, plaster of Paris, lime, anhydrite or other binders based on calcium sulphate, and also those based on pulverulent dispersion binders are described. The copolymers of the invention give the aqueous binder suspensions a very good dispersing or fluidizing action combined with excellent processing properties. In addition, the oxyalkylene glycol alkenyl ethers used according to the invention can be produced industrially relatively simply and cheaply and require comparatively low initiator concentrations in the copolymerization.

The invention relates to carboxylic acid derivatives which are obtained by reacting an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride (A) with a hydrophobic reactive component (B) that contains at least one group reacting to carboxylic acid anhydrides and has a mean molecular weight of 200 to 50,000 Dalton. The inventive carboxylic acid derivatives are excellent as a substance for preventing efflorescence on surfaces of hardened cementious construction materials and/or rendering the corresponding cementious systems hydrophobic. Furthermore, said cementious products absorb considerably smaller amounts of water as a result of the inventive additives such that frost damage and premature rusting of the reinforcing steel can be significantly reduced.

The invention relates to the use of polymer microparticles comprising a cavity in hydraulically binding building material mixtures, between 1 and 100 vol. % of the cavity of said microparticles being filled with water. In this way, a significant concrete resistance to changes in frost and dew states is achieved, said microparticles providing improved protection of the concrete against the effects of changes in frost and dew states, with a diameter of between 0.1 and 1 µ and doses that are smaller than those in prior art by between 1 and 2 orders of magnitude. Furthermore, the pressure resistance of the correspondingly hardened concrete is significantly improved, which was not the case before. The invention also relates to compositions containing polymer microparticles and hydraulically binding building material mixtures, and hardened building material mixtures produced using such compositions.

The invention relates to the use of epoxy derivatives that are obtained by reacting a di-, tri- or tetraglycidyl compound (A) with an optionally unsaturated reactive component (B), consisting of C8-C28 fatty acid, a C8-C28 alcohol or a C8-C28 secondary amine, as additives for cementitious building materials. The inventive epoxy derivatives are excellent agents for preventing or suppressing blooming on the surfaces of cured cementitious building materials and/or for hydrophobing the corresponding cementitious systems.
